His wife's Sarah Alexander, a total Betty and very funny and talented too. Plus his sister is married to Graham Linehan, writer of Father Ted, Big Train, The I.T. Crowd, Brass Eye etc. etc.

That he's a BOC fan is no surprise but I'm pleased that he's acknowledged the debt owed and influence on Look Around You. Lest we forget how the LAY music is/was one of the perennial faek scams.

Given that he's linked to so many people in the media and in particular Chris Morris (albeit through his brother in law rather than direct I would guess), I wouldn't be surprised if he was in possession of some insider knowledge from the Warp end of things. But on the other hand, he could just be picking up stray bullshit like the rest of us.

So, he's of above average reliability, but it can't be taken any, further than that.
I agree, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility he might have some info (Morris is signed to Warp.. or at least, has released stuff through them) makes you wonder (okay, speculation on top of speculation here!) if Warp now have a more solid release schedule in mind for this record?

Straying off-topic slightly, a dark, twisted Morris/BoC collaboration, however unlikely, would be something i'd love to hear...
Morris is too twisted for BOC IMO. Just perfect for Hell Interface though!

The man Morris is working with Warp Films. Four Lions is out soon-ish. He would know insider stuff, I'm sure of it. I mean, if I was making a Warp Film the first question at the first meeting would have to be " Can BOC do the soundtrack?". Perhaps the answer was " No, they're too busy with their double album".

Love the track titles  Perfect antidote to the usual speculative fluff.

Just because I didn't see it mentioned in the thread... Peter Serafinowicz (as "Gelg") actually did the music for Look Around You.

The boyfriend denies he is a vampire. Rosie is stunned:

If the double album thing is true, I wonder why BOC are making it from a time/money perspective (don't get me wrong, it's welcomed). I know they don't really seem to think in these terms, but how much extra time would go into a double album for say 50% increase in price? Indeed how much would it sell for? (I'm only concerned about their economic situation because I want them to keep making music!).

My thinking is therefore that it must, as always with BOC, be a purely aesthetic/intellectual exercise for example perhaps one side is electronic tracks and the other acoustic or live orchestrated versions of these tracks. Or perhaps there is "traditional" BOC on one side and "new" BOC, whatever that may entail (vocals?) on the other.

Thoughts?

If there is going to be a double album i'm hoping for a few epic eight minute plus tracks. I would love to see what they would with a track of that sort of length. XYZ was really good and expansive, it's a shame it's never been officially released but i digress.

So...

Yeah, a few really long expansive tracks would be awesome. I'm sure i'll love it however it turns out though. :D
