Track 7 (from Live @ Warp's 10th Birthday)

Post by chzi »

Hello. :)

Could someone please assist me in determining the reversed and effect:ed lyrics this song is made from.

Here is a short reversed sample to download: http://seance.se/live7.zip, I hope that it is ok to share this with you like this. If not, please tell me.

Ok, now... any suggestions?

EDIT: the .ogg file couldn't be "found" even though it was there, hm wierd.. so I zipped it instead and changed the url. There you go!

EDIT 2: it is NOT the "marcus eoin marcus eoin" track I am asking about, dammit. :D

the vocodered voice sounds a lot like it's saying marcuseoinmarcuseoinmarcuseoin to me, even though it probably isn't

i think its sounds like 'all these symbols, all these symbols, all these symbols, all these symbols'
and the other lyrics sound like 'the one oldest, the one oldest, the one oldest is (uaaaauuuuwww***twidiliding***)

kaini: Hm, it is the seventh track they played that night. 100% sure. Perhaps you have a mp3 rip with 2 tracks in one file? Not that it matters, just got a little confused here. :D

ross adey:  Nice attempt! Hehe, my guess is tooootally different!! Looks like this will be an interesting thread hehe.. anyone else??

i think ross is on about the 11 minute track as well...

as for your loop, i dunno; sounds like a heavily fucked-with cocteau twins or something

Haha, now that you said it. Yeah, you're probably right Thought his guess was a bit off, I just didn't want to say anything in case it was serious :D

Come on now kaini, get yourself a pair of good headphones, turn the volume up and LISTEN to it carefully. You got to hear something :P

here's a pitched-down and slightly slowed version of the loop, with the higher frequencies boosted

http://s6.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=37W7Z ... QRS4640E5E

'this lord of my soul, how ????????? of me'
or something like that

edit: the incredible string band?

I have no idea about track 6, but track 7 I believe the voice is saying ''focusing'' repeatedly.

Thanks :) Impressive! How about "Bless the lord oh/of my soul.. how...???" maybe?

Good start. However, there are 2 similar loops going like this A, B, A, B, A, B. The words are different though. But we can begin with analysing this one first!

The part after "how.." is really tricky. My best shot is "how large(?) it has to be/build" :?:

the start/scorn of my soul... oh lord you must admit/love me????
i dont know. it sounds a little like 'all writ down' by the ISB. but i dont think it is that song.
the bright sounding organ at the end sounds kind of 80's ballady.
fair play for the editing on the loop!!!!

interesting: psalm 103 from the bible starts 'bless the lord, o my soul', and there have been numerous spirituals and hymns and things based on that psalm.

just firing off ideas, really

Great ideas! You're doing fine! :D That must be it. Haha ha, of course it is! 8)

So I think we've nailed it down to something like this then.. maybe?
Bless the lord, o my soul
how........................??

Bless the lord, o my soul
I will be ............. ?

track 7 is definitely: "funky singing"

it sounds like that, it matches the theme of the song... it just has got to be that.

You know, I always thought it was saying "Focus on the spiral"..cos wasn't that some old track off a pre-Twoism album?

How 'bout:

There's blood in my soul. I will be bad again. There's blood in my soul. I love the masterplan.

Nah, just kidding 8).

I'll think it's indeed something like: "There's love in my soul / i will be back again / there's love in my soul / how loved you must have been " Thanks for clearing that 23degreesdream.

I finally found the source of the sample used in the Warp10 unknown track(2:55).
It is from the song "Bless the Lord" on Make A Joyful Noise: Introducing Colby (1984).

Here is the Youtube clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxC-utQ ... 2ED4B#t=77

Bless the Lord O my soul O Lord You are so great
Bless the Lord O my soul I will be glad in Him

This was bugging me for the longest time, initially I thought it was "the start/story of my soul I've already lost a bit, the start/story of my soul I will be glad within". Guess I needed more of His inspiration

This relates to this watmm topic:

and Twoism topics:

Safe to add this to the bocpages Fredd-E?
