VHS Head - Video Club (Skam Records)

Post by oscillik »

i'm surprised there isn't already a thread about this release

some of it sounds quite BoC (in terms of production)

either way, i'm liking it very much.

to me it sounds more like Jackson and His Computer Band.

it's growing on me, slowly.

haha! It's some guy from Blackpool :). I remember someone coming onto the forum a while ago to notify us that it wasn't a member of BoC, and just a dude from Blackpool, possibly one of the shittiest town's ever.

I can't wait for more from this artist. Love the song but hate the length. It's way too short, less than 15 minutes.

"The VHS head album will be released in September more info very soon"

Funny thing about this I still kinda relate this news to the "new boc album in 2010" and "the next album will come as a shock to everyone, no one will expect this from us" (boc quote from the HUMO interview)

Thing is I still hear heavy boc influence in some of the already released VHS Head tracks + the whole concept is totally BoC like... it wouldn't come as a shock to me if we once learn that VHS Head is a side-project of BoC (even though it has already been debunked before)..

It's just a feeling, nothing more :)

I don't understand why people think Vhs head are Boc, I don't see the family link in the sound or any other link.

For me Vhs just sound like an another "cut " electro artist like thousand others, like the actual modern electronic mode.

So where is the link with boc ?

Take the track "video club" for instance. Skip towards 55 seconds. To me that sounds very boccy. It just does, can't help but feel like it.

And the idea of collecting old tapes, sampling and processing them, putting them together to make new tunes is kinda like them....

Yes! Can't wait! Now I have something to look forward to instead of that new and disappointing VSnares album

Tnx for the update - plz keep us posted! :)

As for the boc-connection, I gotta say while I enjoy VHS Head and am impressed by video club, I'll lay my cards on the table and say I don't think it's them at all :)

Plus, I honestly don't think it'll have anywhere near the same lasting value as anything BOC have done (video club that is, obvs can't say about any forthcoming album, yet).
