Upcoming albums 2010

Post by Fredd-E »

With only approximately 300 days left in 2010 we have new albums inbound by the following (to me interesting) artists:
Boards of Canada
Bola
Plaid
Aphex Twin
Flying Lotus
The Black Dog
Clubroot
VHS Head
ISAN

And we recently had:
Autechre
Four Tet

This seems like 2010 is just too good to be true, right? So many quality artists releasing new stuff in the very same year. And I've not even talked about the whole Rephlex 2010 stuff from a while back.

2010 is on fire!

Agreed. All quality, class-A stuff. Looking forward to all of it.. Especially Aphex and BoC.

Well, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but there are rumours of a new Radiohead album in the making. That would make me a happy man.

Arcade Fire recently finished recording their new album, that goes for Band of Horses too.. Sooo, I'm pretty stoked about that aswell.

The final Pan Sonic album is supposedly epic as well.

Isn't Broken Social Scene releasing a new album too?

MDG: "the new album has been held up over the past year by one or two issues outwith the band's control, but it is finally coming out in 2010."

MDG: "Once again, for anyone else who has missed previous posts, you are not waiting for nothing. There is definitely a new album coming; I realise we've been posting this message for over a year but that's just how these things go sometimes."

MDG: "Still none that I can share yet really, though we're thinking of putting up a Twitter or something somewhere on the official site to shoot down this stuff, there's so much of it coming so regularly - we could call it Bullshwitter™. I can tell you there's more than one record in an advanced stage right now."

I think these quotes leave practically nothing to the imagination anymore. ;-)

It really does.

Same for all those new forthcoming albums. It just struck me that all of those are going to be released in 2010. All of this definitely trumps 2009 and 2008.

If Clark and Bibio where to release another album each this year too that would make 2010 epic!

I'd say they both will too :D

EDIT: Who's Clubroot?

A new Royksopp should be coming as well, and maybe a new Sigur Ros as well.

And at the moment, there is 1 artist who stands out amongst all other new releases. Guys, you must check this. Brasstronaut. He released an EP with the name ''Old World lies'', which was really, really, really good! Now his full length album called ''Mount Chimaera''. I reckon everybody checks this out, because that EP was really good, best thing I've heard in a few years actually.

I've listened this debut, self-titled album in repeat for nights. It's a perfect dubstep album, but not a thirteen in a dozen one at all. It really grabs your attention and keeps you listening; especially at night. Very great debut album.

Some info about his new album: http://forum.watmm.com/topic/54198-clubroot-ii-mmx/

Oh really? Wow, hope you're right.

Saw an interview with Jonsi last week which seemed to suggest the reason his solo album (and tour) had emerged now was that the rest of the band were all off having kids with their wives?

And yes, a new Broken Social Scene record is coming out in a few months time.

It looks like Lone is going to releasing a few 12"s too which will be nice

I finally hope a proper release from Letherette occurs this year

And lastly, (I may be alone here), but i'm looking forward to the new M.I.A. record coming out at the beginning of summer!

Not alone in this one. She's been irritating me recently though, with her 'problem with this city is I'm not getting shot at' shtick, talking about how real and 'street' she is then selling shirts for $80 each. Plus that rusko-produced tune she did was kinda meh for me (Rusko gets on my tits as well).

Still, arular is one of favourite records from recent years, and kala was pretty good too. Hope the new one is decent and not too annoying :)

i'm very interested to see what the new BOC is going to be like. i have listened to BOC since the skam days and they have pretty much worn out their welcome in my brain...but still...have a place in my heart (aawwww!). aphex, i used to be a massive aphex freak, but his micro-editing and smug contempt for his listeners wore thin. things done changed - we'll see how these guys fare in this progressed musical landscape.

personally, i'm extremely excited for the dam-funk/steve arrington collabo...supposed to be out by summer.

I read something about that a while back, in which they said they had an album in the stage of finishing I think!

I'll probably get stones thrown at me for asking this, but what concrete evidence is there that MDG is 100% legit and that his info is correct?

Caribou is missing in that list :)

@sevenELIXER: there have been numerous posts about that in the BoC section. mdg = 100% legit.
