I'm sorry for being such an ass. Every single fucking post I make is dumb crap that I think is "REALLY IMPORTANT" at the time. I'm just not going to post anymore.

i'm glad to see this post. and don't get me wrong, i'd like to hear a new album as much as the next man, but i'm done giving a shit about when it will come out, what time of year, what the hidden msgs might be, etc. et-fucking-c. somehow i don't think boc will release any more music. it doesn't bother me. i am just happy they've released music in the first place. i've said it before and i'll say it again - imagine they'd released nothing... imagine there was no boards of canada... ever. that would be pretty shit, so be glad, for the song has no ending.

I refuse to listen to Old Tunes Volume 1 or 2 until I reach this stage.

Other than that, I agree with everyone else. It's music. It's entertainment. No one's forcing you to do anything, except buy the next album...
Porridge?

No, that's wrong.

Why would you refuse to listen to old tunes? they are amazing tracks regardless of anything else.

That ridiculous announcement he just made turned into a interesting philosophical debate.

Im with you.

I got this strange melancholic feeling that they won't release an album again, EVER.

I don't care about MDGs so called official statements or whatever that an album is coming and that "they" (mdg could be BOC themselves, who knows :/) DEFINITLY going to release an album soon.

BOC could have changed that idea today or tomorrow (you muscicians know how you feel from day to day, ups and downs, is this good enough? this is the best thing ever! Hey this is dull, wait this is classic, etc etc). I bet they have meetings/listening sessions with friends they trust and try out their music on them and if they don't think its better or atleast as good as the other albums then they won't release it.

If the new album/albums they created (they did 300 tracks for Geogaddi) is not up to par im sure they won't ever release an album again, if they don't think its better or atleast as good as the trilogy, WICH IS A HUGE, GREAT GREAT TASK TO MANAGE!!!

I don't see any living artist right now who could top one of those 3 classic albums right now except of BOC themselves).

Dam! What pressure BOC must have right now...

Am I the only one who thinks ....?

1. I actually don't care if they release a new album because the music they have already released is great .

2. For anyone who is 'Done' with them , let me know of another artist/band that has made something as good as BOC recently ?

1. I do care, because I'm interested in the new tunes and new sounds that will be on the album. Ironic right? New tunes to make me nostalgia.

2. Depends on what you like... I can name some great bands that are just up and starting that are making some really great stuff, as well as old bands that are returning to their roots. Now they may not be IDM, but personally this is a really great year for music IMO.

I'm not done.

But what I am getting fed up with is this quest for perfection.
How bad could a BoC record ever be?

We already know they are supremely talented, so I just don't understand the long wait. It's not going to make it better, and without other tracks to compare it to, how would we ever know how to judge whether these "offically realeased" tracks are bad?

I can live with them not making music. But then call it a day and let your fans know. Or just give us a legit release date so we can wait with bated breath for that day!

Exactly. I almost went out of listening to BoC, but then I listened to AFOT, which I really liked. I'm scared of doing it again, so I'm saving them until another time. Not refusing, wrong word, but just as a backup in case.

Then again, if their new album's out this year, I might just go on a BoC freakout and get all of the material I haven't got yet (Old Tunes Vol. 1 & 2, and perhaps Hell Interface remixes)
Porridge?

No, that's wrong.

I don't really like Old Tunes that much. Some are okay but they're not that amazing to me.

i think BoC have a lot of material that isn't BoC...it's not like they all they think of is BoC. You can tell by the way they had all those old tunes materials with the acoustic jammings in them. I bet that's how they created a lot of The Campfire Headphase, just going through jam recordings they have and snipping them out and throwing them into BoC songs.

I bet they have a lot of different sounding material and that's why it's not like so instant and direct for making an album. For most musicians, when they go to record something, in the end if they release it, they know it's going to be part of a specific project. I don't think BoC are any way like this, and if anything the complete opposite. So when they make a BoC album it's more of a funneled, filtered, direction that they sorta take all their different directions, combine them into one package, and put the BoC effect on it.

that doesn't really make the most sense, but you get me? BoC is a direct connection to their memories and subconscious, so it's about combining all their past into the present and evoking that nostalgia effect.

though i think the new one will be more of a play on the future...just my opinion
