I saw a ufo

Ok, I've just put a video on youtube from a couple weeks ago where I saw a ufo on the way home..

And here's the description:

I was walking in Corstorphine, Edinburgh (about 3.3 miles from Edinburgh Airport according to Google Maps, and it's more or less 2 straight roads to get there). I looked in the general direction of the Airport (NW?) and saw a very bright red orb, still, in the sky. It was really high up.

I continued walking when from behind one of the local buildings in front of me another red orb rose at a steady pace. This was in a more west direction. Anyway, it was a distance away and I can't remember clearly but as you can see in the video it was flashing. It moved upwards quite fast and then froze, and then started moving sideways very slowly and then upwards at the same slow speed.

It made no noise, and I can't imagine a helicopter would have been taking off from anywhere in that direction for miles although my geography is a bit shit and I could be wrong.

Personally, I asked a girl walking past what she thought the light was and she (quite understandably, really) wasn't that interested. I wouldn't have discussed it without the video, and I'm still not convinced it was anything unordinary, I'm just confused as to what it might have been. I would have thought it was some kind of lantern (not that I've ever really seen a lantern in action) but it stopped midway and moved sideways..so my best mate (Wassup Chris!? Gave ya a mention boyy ) advised that it was in fact quite strange and here we are, on youtube.

Interesting man. As for the vid, I guess all I can say is it's hard to get a sense of motion from the thing since it's the only object in the shot and the rest is featureless sky. No idea what that might've been though.

i used to be fascinated by ufo's. i still am i suppose, i just don't have time to catch up on everything. my dad was a pilot, and always talked about weird shit he saw on his charter flights.

when i was a kid i used to tell people i was abducted by aliens in my backyard. i told that lie so many times i actually started believing it for a while. lulz! no harm done though...

i have a vid of a ufo i saw back in 2006, but my vid's not as good. you have an incredibly steady hand considering most ufo vids i've seen. nice work!

I've seen two UFOs in my life before and while I don't for a second believe that they were spacecraft, I'm still incredibly unsure of what they were.

The first was late afternoon in my back garden in 2006 and I was with my sister. It was perfectly cloudless and the sun was just beginning to go down but it was still fairly bright. Suddenly, I looked directly up in the sky and glimpsed what I can only describe as a "smudge" or really intense yellow light, I yelled at her to look up too. It was almost a teardrop sort of shape and was about the same size as the sun would appear in the sky. It moved in a diagonal motion upwards for about 10 seconds before quickly fading away. My sister saw it too so hey, at least I have two witnesses!

The second is less interesting and happened while I was cycling to my best friend's house on a grey overcast day in 2008. As I stopped to catch my breath, I looked over at the rooftops of the house and in the distance I could make out a tall grey cylinder. It was completely motionless and stayed there pretty much all afternoon, just hanging in the sky. It certainly attracted quite a bit of interest! Now, the weird bit is that when I described this to others, they quickly dismissed it as a cylindrical helium balloon. Since then I've seen real cylindrical helium balloons and they looked nothing like what I saw. Very strange.

Anybody got any possible explanations or seen anything similar?

I saw something strange in the sky in London. I was alone on the rooftop of a 5 story building, and looked up to see two small white orbs (when I say small, I mean like pinpricks-similar to yours, hexagonlife, but white) - I got out my phone to record them but they started moving upward - then eventually dissapeared. They were parallel to eachother, which makes me think they weren't just baloons or something. I really don't know.

My grandmother has seen UFO's on 3 occasions. Now, she is a crazy artist type, but the second occasion, my grandfather (a Yorkshire bred Anglican) saw it also.She sketched one back in '89 and was able to describe them in great detail.

I worked for several years in a copyshop. Every once in a while we made some sort of magazine for a UFO club. They went all scientific on every sighting they got mailed. I enjoyed reading their magazine although I didn't take them very serious. For many of the sightings they got, they found the origin of it (light cannons from bars etc). UFO's are somewhat interesting, but I don't understand the UFO fanatics. The only thing of UFO's I know for sure, is that I can't know anything for sure....

My brother and I both saw something we can't explain when we were younger. We were both cutting up roots with hatchets in my grandmother's back yard, and we looked up, and saw what I remember to be... a green... uhh... bubble, floating way up in the sky. I don't remember much else about it but at the time my brother claimed he could see shapes inside of it, dark blotches (it wasn't clear or see-through) and it moved strangely and without a sound. Whatever it was, it was low-flying and about the size of a helicopter.

never seen a ufo, but i did have a really weird unexplainable event happen to me not too long ago.

me and my friend are sitting in the back of my other friend's car. he's dropping off his girlfriend, so they're kissing each other goodbye. as they kiss, i hear from next to me "hello?" i look over, and my friend looks over back at me, and at the same time, we're like "what'd you say?"

apparently both heard the same thing, coming from the empty seat next to us. the voice sounded like it was slightly amused, but irritated- like "hello, could you not kiss for so long?".

maybe he's lying and he's the one who said it, but that seems like a weird thing to lie about, and he's not much of a liar.

then once i lost a ball in a group of bushes, and couldn't find it. so my friend and i spent about 2 hours looking for it in the general area. still couldn't find it. then spent almost the entire next day looking for it. it had literally disappeared. we saw it go into the bushes, but it never came out. and it wasn't like it was by a drain or the street or something. there was absolutely nowhere for it to go.

those are the only honestly unexplainable things that i can remember happening to me.

One day, when i was maybe nine, i went on a family holiday to wales. Me, my older brother (around 14) and my dad were walking through some woodland not too far from our campsite, when we came on a big, empty, derelict house, about half a mile from the nearest road. As soon as i caught sight of the place i was overcome with... dread? a really, really intense urge to just run the fuck away and not look back. like my life depended on it. I looked back at my dad and brother and could tell from their faces that they felt the same way. Without saying a word, we turned around and pelted away from the place.

We spoke about it later, and all confirmed that we had felt the same way, and none of us had any idea what had triggered it. now, as i've said, i was a jumpy, imaginative kid as was my brother, but if anything the opposite is true of my dad. he has a very grounded, materialist view on life and acting that way was extremely out of character for him.

I've puzzled over this ever since. I'm not saying that it's any kind of 'paranormal' situation, but I'm really curious what could have triggered such an intense reaction in three people, independently of each other, yet without registering conciously. Not a word of this is exaggerated or confused, and to this day it's remained a weird, intense experience that I've no way of classifying.

This is realy weird dude,

I live just about 6 mins away from Corstorphine hill (in Barnton), and i saw such a simmilar thing about 3 months ago or so. It was also coming from the direction of the Airport moving southwards it looked like (towards the Forth).

I called my dad out to see it, and like you we thought it may be someones stray Chinese Lantern. But it seemed far too high up to be one and it was moving quite fast.

It didnt look as bright as your one does though and it was obscured by some cloud cover.

there is a podcast called 'mysterious universe' that is pretty entertaining, and deals with all this kind of stuff as well. i've only listened to a few episodes, but there are over 300! i also heard IABPOITC on one of them!
