Visual images whilst listening to Boards

Rue the Whirl: I always picture a circle that draws itself, going clockwise, and then during that one rest before the next measure it cuts out. Hard to describe.

Bocuma: Sitting on top of a hill on a windy, gray, foggy day, observing the landscape below.

Beach at Redpoint: A beach on a rainy, foggy day, running around.

Happy Cycling: Not much images but more of a theme; the end of childhood, discovering corruption in the world for the first time (especially in the last two minutes)

In the Annexe: I always imagine being in an empty room, kind of like a vestibule or waiting room.

Last Walk Around Mirror Lake: Being at a camp with a lot of log cabins and trees, by a lake.

IABPOITC: A sunny day during winter, looking down at snowcapped trees (I find that album to be a very winter-oriented album).

I have more but can't think of them. Share some of your own.

Before seeing the sesame street clip that spawned The color of the Fire (yet still knowing that they had gotten the clip from sesame street) I could picture a little black girl sitting at a desk letting her legs go back and forth doodling on a sheet of paper, drawing hearts and writing I love you and stuff. I could picture (With my mental camera I guess) a shot from overhead of the desk and the paper she was drawing on and her hand doodling. The color of the fire disturbs me.

I see Geogaddi as a concept album, and the tracks give me a visualisation of a man, waking up in a strange and scary place which he wonders around in, like an underground maze, with many twists and turns. Corsair and Magic Window end the album beautifully, because Corsair, the man sees an end to the cave, and is running to the light, and Magic Window is him coming out of the cave, running back to his friends and family.

God there's so many!

The strongest ones, the ones that have stuck with me the longest are probably...

Happy Cycling - I know everyone says it, but those last 2+ minutes are the greatest thing ever recorded! Seriously! It doesn't really make me see much. It puts me into a very large bluish green worm hole where I float about. It's more physical than visual.

Over The Horizon Radar - Flying over a very green scottish looking hillside with the ocean to the left right as the sun sets on a moderately clear day. Very astoundingly detailed.

Wildlife Analysis/ An Eagle In Your Mind - Floating on this one lake in a boat surrounded by mountains with lots of big green trees on a bright, sunny, warm day. Watching the eagles float overhead. This one is inspired by an actual event and the visual hasn't left me.

Beware The Friendly Stranger - This is one of my favorite visuals and creeps me out every time I think of it. You people have seen Poltergeist 2 right? Well, there's a scene where the little girl is sitting outside the house playing and that fucking creepy old guy starts walking up, singing just as it starts to rain... I see that every time I hear that track!

Gyroscope - Lots of shades of orange sloshing about with the drumbeat.

In The Annexe - I see myself looking down into a park like area from a balcony in a tall apartment building. The whole visual is coated in a hazy nostalgia. Very weird.

The Smallest Weird Number - The sun coming up in the cold autumn/ winter morning next to a big swampy pond. Very pink looking. Only, there's something unsettling and weird about the image... because the music is soothing like that... but... off slightly...

Kite Racer - Beautiful visuals of hanging about with friends at the edge of a forest and a big field on a nice late summer day. You can see the sun poking through the dense trees and there's one of those big sprinklers running in the field way in the distance. Absolutely astounding visual.

I get the same vibe out of the whole In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country EP as doubleEntendre does! I used to drive around during winter listening to it! Good times...

I have a few more but these are my favorites... and I think I've hogged up enough of your time!

Oirectine - Makes me think of wintery medieval times, the main synth's reverb sounds like a church or something.

All of the songs make me see things.I have this thing that I see stuff in EVERY song.As long as it isn`t Pop or something.

BoC let me see thing unknown to me.But than I saw a lot of NFBOC clips and everything fell into place.This is what I see.For example, A phantasy by Norman mcLaren...Thats the kind of stuff I see

Yeah, they said it was designed to be kind of a alice in wonderland type journey through childhood. . . they couldn't have done a better job at it.

i think of train stations on a late summer afternoon as an opening to an imaginary film while listening to 1969.
also on a side note, that same imaginary film ends up with how to disappear completely by radiohead.

Diving Station reminds me of waiting at the bus terminal in my city when I was young (4 to 5 years old) each day. It sounds just like it used to. Thus the piano goes really well with that image.

And when I hear Beware The Friendly Stranger, all I can think of is good old Salad Fingers, hah!

i had a cool thought today. wouldn't it be cool to use boc as a type of therapy. . . like you have someone listen to one of their songs and you address their problems based on the mental images they conjure up.
