ahhhh, i dunno, i just feel good when i'm working on something i believe is worthy of releasing and calling a finished art project.cebit wrote:Why should you always be in the process of writing music in the first place ?
BTW I love your DOS Image Release. What a point of view of the electro scenery !
But thanks for the kind words. I don't know if I'll ever do anything quite like DOS Image again.

Hey man, if you made this tape just for your ego, ust make a mp3 mix for the net and don't make one tape for one person.
It's a personal gift for me, to one person to one other. The tape mixtape are like that, maybe it's just for one person, and maybe you will never know what was the tracklist on the one you received, they have this mysterious part.
It's still very cool to share them with the twoism bro, but it's not an obligation, and maybe people don't have the equipment to put them on mp3.
I still have the one I received to upload on mp3, but the quality of the mp3 is very bad, the tape "wind" is too strong on my tape deck. But one day I will upload it.

There's no need to be a dick, man. I didn't make it for my ego, but it was a nice creation and I wanted to see it circulate around some. That was part of the idea when this got started. I spent a good bit of time warping the tape sounds and I only listened to it back like one and a half times, I'd just like to hear it again cuz it was the first mixtape I'd made in years. But hey, fuck me for finding it important I guess.Geodesic wrote:Hey man, if you made this tape just for your ego, ust make a mp3 mix for the net and don't make one tape for one person.

*BUMP*
I was at the laundromat the other day and someone had dropped off an entire box of old discarded cassettes near the 'local stuff' bulletin board in there. I grabbed about 10 or so of them since my new (old) car only has a tape deck and I have to drive a lot for work.
Alas, none of them really struck much interest in me, but surely there is someone on the board here who would want them? I don't just want to go drop them off at the thrift store as I definitely think these could be AWESOME for some obscure and weird samples or for other mixtapes, or whatever you guys do as you do.
I posted a pic of all the covers below. I can't really anticipate how interested anyone will be, but to be fair, I'll leave the offer open for a week so as to give everyone a chance. Just PM me, say, your top 2 choices and I'll try to get these out. First come first serve of course, and if no one claims the remainders in a week, I'll let whoever requested know they're still up for grabs.
Perhaps someone has a cool mixtape for me so I have something to listen to on my early mornings to work?
No trade needed though, just want to give these 'a good home'.

EDIT: not sure if you still browse here DaveFrom2001 but I have a mixtape for you finally that I owe you. Where can I send it?

That's funny-that kitaro tape was the only one that I somewhat enjoyed. Not enough to keep it though. Would you like it?
As a side note, a few days after I 'found' all these, I was at the library and spotted some more Kitaro under the 'electronic' section in their cd bins. I haven't heard of them besides this tape but it seemed like a poor asesment of their style from what I did listen to. Then again, maybe a bum just dropped it in there...?

still slightly ot: yeah, light of the spirit diverges from kitaro's synth sound, except for a few solos. it's very new-age.
his early albums are much more synth-based. silk road and towards the west are just... fantastic. very cinematic and spiritually centering, almost spacey.
but, i'm not sure if operating a vehicle is a good place to take a spiritual journey?
i sent you a pm, zeitgeist.

WTF, why won't whoever has Cole's tape just give it back?
Is this how you guys trade tapes around here, just having the original owner ask for it back and a year later nobody has made the effort to do so?
Sorry to budge into a conversation I wasn't having and all, but that seems so ridiculous. Where is the tape now, Africa or something?
