They are working on the BoCset. still.

This must be getting in the way of the new album.

I dreamt about the bocset
It had this logo engraved into some sort of grey slate

I think they raised the bar far too high for themselves with campfire. It's going to be a tough one to follow.
Bring on the boxset!

I'm not too sure myself, man. Although a very un-typical band, BoC are nevertheless a band with lots of history, so naturally they'd have changed their sound matured and become a new band of sorts, and that gives them total freedom to... not disregard their earlier work, but to just free themselves up from expectation and such. I mean, that's why they've stopped touring and are so private, to keep it all open and up in the air. In that respect, there's little to no pressure, and you can guarantee they won't release any sounds they've felt pressured into creating. That said.....

Well I agree with what saurus said.
I'm not really too sure why its taking so long. As has been said, there could be many reasons why. I just hope that it is brought out sometime in 2010.
Its now June. Only about 6 months left til the end of the year. It wouldnt surprise me if they release it in the last month of the year. Could even be on the last DAY of the year! Who knows?
I woul love to see some sort of box set of their earlier/unreleased stuff, mixed with new songs. I think us fans would just celebrate like there is no tomorrow.
Just a question: who is this MDG guy you all have been talking about? Is he some kinda representative of BOC? Anyway I hope he has some good news for us soon!
Edit: never mind, found some info about him on the boc pages site :)
Die hard BOC fan since 1998!

His visits are sparse, but when he does come around it's usually a little tidbit of good news or shooting down false tracks or bogus rumors.

CALLING MDG! ARE YOU THERE? ANYTHING YOU CAN SAY AS OF NOW? WHEN WILL WE GET ANOTHER UPDATE? THANKS.

I'm pretty sure MDG's policy has been to give an update when there's something to actually say.

How many times must I tell you - don't go bringing common sense, logic and reason into this. It's just not the way we roll

I've had arguments with people on this board before. There is something to being overly quirky. If you are a great musician with a long history and thus have a huge catalog of music to choose from I can understand that you need some time. But this is bordering on the absurd.

children or no children. Its 5 years going on 6. What's to decide?

I understand lable problems. But man. I've changed so nuch since I found them that i hope when it does finally come out I don't just hate everything because soo much time has passed.

Nah, for me it isn't. It's a sign of them still making music, so an album is still waiting for us.

Thank youu. I love the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis. My life goal to see them once while smoking a spliff and listen to BoC. Total bliss.

Are you serious right now? I have the same goal! I was just thinking about it yesterday because a friend of mine was just in Alaska doing some mountaineering.

Maybe we can team up and make the trip a little cheaper :P
