i live in a place named aberaeron whilst she lives four miles away in llanon. the drummer of my band rents a cottage from rose's partner...anyways, not to get too personal!747Music wrote:That's pretty cool. Unreal actually, because it doesn't really feel like they're from here to be honest (to me anyway).Stry Craty Bya wrote:I know we must have at least a few people from the UK on here. So tell me: HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE ON THE SAME LAND MASS AS MIKE AND MARCUS SANDISON?
They are so reclusive they might as well be from Mars. I've driven through the Pentlands on the way through Scotland and it's odd looking out over farmland thinking 'that house in that field over there could be Hexagon Sun' and then realising that, in reality, they could be in New Zealand or something!

I've done that so many times. In some of my more fanboy-moments: "I wonder if Mike/Marcus have been in this Waitrose?"Mexicola wrote:Unreal actually, because it doesn't really feel like they're from here to be honest (to me anyway).Stry Craty Bya wrote:I know we must have at least a few people from the UK on here. If you drive up into the Pentlands through Balerno (where I believe M&M are origianally from), you pass a Marchbank house and Red Moss nature reserve. Every time Igo up there* I'm looking for men in North Face jackets and beanie hats carrying a box marked "New album master tapes" and a vintage synth.
* - for hill walking, not BoC-stalking, honestly

I know Bibio is from Wolverhampton, which is very near to where I live (I enjoy listening to the children's voices at the start of 'Fire Ant', because the sound of their accents sounds exactly like an old home video of myself and my sister as kids).
When I'm in Birmingham, I occasionally see if I could see if any members of Broadcast were around -- on the offchance that I could ask Trish Keenan out on a date.
My mom knows someone who used to go out with Ozzy Osborne; and on that subject, the West Midlands is the home of heavy metal -- as well as a short-lived post-rock scene including Broadcast, Plone, and Pram.
On a less cool note, the 80s singer Tiffany married a businessman the town nearest to me and now lives here. No jokes.
