he's most definitely one of my favourite authors of late.

Just a heads-up on the Murakami thing too btw. Am a pretty big Murakami fan; i've read all his novels (the one's translated into English, anyways), but not yet got round to all the short stories.. :0

First hand account of a Marine during the Pacific War... It's fantastic. If anyone is interested in WWII history, this is a must read.

got it for a quid in a charity shop last year, only just got round to it

Dude. YES! Frank Herbert is amazing. And someone earlier said House of Leaves is getting really crazy.... just wait until you finish it. That book scared the hell out of me lol.

I guess the last book I had time to sit down and read was The Crying of Lot 49 by Pynchon or Confederacy of Dunces lol lol... Got to love that Ignatius lols. I have V but haven't been able to finish it.... And am now trying to finish Strange Pilgrims but haven't had the time, unfortunately.

Ah, my wife recommends The Awakening.... She says its pretty damn good.
