Looking for writers of any level for new website

Hey everyone,

I'm launching a new website in the next couple of months, something I'm working really hard on and I think is going to be unique and interesting. It's a non-profit website, and I'll basically be writing honestly about alot of things with probably a focus on mid-90's and early 2000's video games, music, television, film and whatever. Seriously, there is nothing that won't be written about as long as we find it interessant.

The only exception would probably be political opinions and anything too serious...if that makes any kind of sense. It's going to be a positive, innovative (I believe) look at alot of the things I (or we!) appreciate. Topics off the top of my head include articles about 90's cartoons, psone games, nintendo. I guess a way to summarise would be if you love something noone else noticed, like soundtracks for a game or anything, you could write about it. Sorry I'm rambling.

Anyyway, I'm looking for writers to help me build this motherfucka. You can have any angle, and if you don't feel it would fit in with the above, we can always see about giving you your own kind of column, or section of the website. If you have an idea for something that would be funny, like adventures with Russian mail order brides and think you could contribute consistent articles, I'd love to hear from you, cos I can't afford that shit.

I'm still finding it hard to summarise this...but if you have ANY kind of geeky interests and wanna write shit about it, seriously just let us know. Even if your hobby is collecting nintendos or something and you wanna write about the flea market.

I'm also looking for someone to help review legal highs, I want to test them with other people and we can compare our experiences.

I feel like I've built up a collection of semi-obscure music (both albums and MP3) over the years, so if I write about anything, it'll probably be some old electronic music that's was missed throughout the years. I get angry at people who have very similar tastes and consider themselves massive fans of the genre, but yet look at my list of favourite albums and know maybe... one of the albums. (Angry might be the wrong word... it's more like "How can you call yourself a fan of the genre if you haven't heard this!? Go! Go now and listen to it!")

So yeah, I'll start brainstorming some ideas and more importantly, draw up a list of everything I can talk about to make sure I don't run out of stuff within a week.

I might be down for this I know I could write for pages about certain stuff from the 90s and my childhood if given the right prompt.

I would be willing to write some articles for you perhaps explaining how certain electronic records affect me even though I never grew up with the music or the culture when I was younger (considering I was mostly into rock and punk until last year).

I would also be willing to write some stuff about the current state of the industry and how certain artists tend to be ignored since they can't be pigeonholed into a certain genre.

Maybe write an "open letter to all music pirates" and explain how their piracy could eventually kill creativity in the music world.

One other idea I had was to listen to obscure music from around the world and explain how that music is indicative of the place where it was made and is exclusive to it. (might need some help acquiring records to make it a weekly column)

I'll definitely email you if I get any more ideas or if I write anything to submit to you.

By the way, do you have any idea on a site name?

I'll write about some stuff. But I'm not down with testing "legal highs", though your explanation is a bit vague. Since I get a good high by being at overlooks in the great smokey or blue ridge mountains. Or by flying on a DH mountain bike trail at 25mph through the trees. Doesn't seem to be what you are going for.
