Dune is fantastic, I read the five sequals too, but there are diminishing returns.

Just finished The Fuller Memorandum by Charles Stross. I enjoyed it.

Just read Azincourt by Bernard Cornwell over the weekend. Not as epic as his Grail quest series, but still good.

I like reading easy pop. So i do all the stieg larsson, hening mankell (who stole everything from sjowall and walloo) roslund and helstrom, etc... I read every book of douglas coupland as soon as it ships and got a kick out of Victor Wooten's 'The music lesson'. Far from a great novelist but great content.
And someone had to read The war of the worlds again so I volunteered.

But since everyone here seems to like murakami a lot, I'v put it on my list for my next library visit. I wonder if they ever heard of him in the first place!

waaw just checked and there's 10 books to pick from,... so it's me who never heard of him

STILL ploughing my way through 'Moby Dick' by Herman Melville. I've been reading it so long I think I might have started slightly before Mr Melville began writing it....

"Galapagos" by Kurt Vonnegut. i'd recommend this book to just about anyone.

yeah i'm getting back into him for sure. just finished galapagos and now starting look at the birdie. i hadn't read anything by him since high school, which has been like ten years. yeah, i'm old.

Fuck, I decided to stop reading Dune. Do no get me wrong, I thought it was an excellent book and very well written, but it's just too much of a kind of opus to be reading right now, know what I mean?

I guess I'd like something a bit "easier" to read (although Dune was very accessible i terms of actual language. Feel awful when I decide I cannot complete a book.

90% words, 10% insight/creativity
