Chris Horne
There may already be a topic on this guy, but does anyone know anything about him? Apparently he worked with the Sandisons on Twoism a bit, and collaborated with them in the early days of the Hexagon Sun collective that Boards of Canada as a band theoretically stemmed from. He thanks them in the liner notes of one of his solo albums, and his sound is, according to reviews, pretty Bocish. Anyone heard his stuff?
Did you read this?
A friend of mine saw him live in Belgium a few years ago I think.
I think his stuff is OK and I have an album by him on vinyl but I don't really listen much to it.

i like christ.'s stuff, but to be totally honest it's kind of generic to my ears. he has some totally standout tracks, my faves are Cordate, Balaam, Sunart, Always To Play, Pylonesque
But so much of what he does just hits my ears all the same way. Same reverb, same wibbly warbly synth lines, same tiss-tissky crack-n-popping drums and hats, it just doesn't hit me as having as much soul as some other stuff.

Christ. is always a difficult one for me to describe what I like about him. Although I own 4 releases of him I think I can say it's hit and miss. Some songs are outstanding and some are weak.
I guess that if BoC(with Chris Horne) never excisted I might have listened to him in another way.
You should check his stuff out either way because a lot of the BoC fans seem to like him.
Steward dude, welcome back! (for how long this time?

The only song which grabbed my attention from the Peel Session was this:
I absolutely love that song! I did try and listen to some other stuff outside of the Peel Session... but again, nothing grabbed me.

Blue Shift Emissions and Pylonesque are probably my favourite Christ. works. I'm a fan!

Christ.'s music is pretty lackluster at best. His recording is awful. Piercing highs, really muddy sound, way too much reverb. And lots of little bites from Boards of Canada. He has a couple cool tracks, I try listening to an entire album and actually get upset. I get so frustrated.
BUT, he recently posted an apparent old release, I actually think as attempt to capture some Boards of Canada's Old Tunes hype, called Yugo77 (how's that for originality). Anyways the track Ritalin is actually SUPER good (despite the beat seeming to have a little Nlogax flavor to). And Blue Shift Emissions he gets away from his cloning. But still pretty flaccid.

Check Ritalin Orig Track 4 on myspace. He should just offer that album as a free DL.
I've actually bought all his releases, and feel like he kind of owes us one. Know what I mean.

hmm, while perhaps i may agree i dont particulary like the way he portrays his image, and some of his music is hit and miss, i think you are being a little unfair by making fun of an artist, as opposed to making constuctive critisism. The Voice of Reason wrote:??No down payment is the best rice you bad. Actually yes. I really don't like how he portrays himself, while basically kick starting his music by riding the coat tails of Boards of Canada. Biter extreme.

i dont know why you think i'm a coward. we can use english if you prefer. are you calling me or christ a white man?

White ghost was for you. Biter is for horne.
I did open with proper crit, but when I saw those photos, I was BLOWN away at the depth his bites will go. That guy knows no bounds.
Make sure your translation carries over properly. I made sure mine translated back to english in a comprehensible manner. I still don't know what you tried to say.
