LeadAcidGymnastics - Old BoC web track sampled
Just downloaded the free EP "As The Moss Dampens My Heart Weakens" from these guys http://www.myspace.com/leadacidgymnastics (link on their page). And as I was idly listening, my ears pricked up on the track "Follow You Down The Flower Trails" which totally uses the old website track from the flying island days (if memory serves). Anyone come across them before?
I found them via FatherLongLegs Youtube site, who does the mad videos for Tobacco, Solar Bears, BMSR etc.
***EDIT***
Found the track online here:

Hello people the ep you hate so much is mine. Yes I used the sample of trails. I'm just starting out making music (I'm 15) and I thought it would be cool to make a sort of cover or whatever you want to call it of the song. Hence why I kept trails in the title. I know the song is a little off tempo but hey, I'm still trying.
Thank you so much for listening and thank you for the feedback. Next time I won't use any boc samples and I will try my hardest to make my next workings better!
edit: Oh and it was tagged as Experimental on the bandcamp page, I'm way ahead of ya wmarsh.

People in this thread are way harsh. Some really nice textures on that EP. And you're only 15? Very accomplished.

That song is my least favorite too just because it was a pain in the ass so get everything even somewhat syncopated. When it sounded like this though I thought it was done because I put a lot of time into that song and it was incredibly frustrating. I wanted to make a boc oriented song because they are a huge influence on me. As well as Black Moth Super Rainbow, they mean a huge deal to me. The song I made that was supposed to sound like them is my favorite.
But if any of you guys liked at least some of my songs I'd be happy if you kept listening. I've got a single I'm going to release very soon, then I'm going to start working on a full length and hopefully get it on cd or cassette if I'm lucky.

Sorry if I came across as an asshole. Honestly the track just didn't click with me, but to be fair, I am guilty of making the assumption that it was made by someone more experienced who is more deserving of criticism.jtotheulian125 wrote:Hello people the ep you hate so much is mine. It's great that you're making music at 15. It's one of those things that I've been too lazy/clueless to actually get out and do myself, so power to you. Keep it up and us 'haters' will be singing your praises before too long.

No no, no need to apologize. I honestly don't give a shit if you didn't like it. I'm just glad you listened to it and I'm glad that someone took the time to post about it in a forum that worships (I use that term loosely because I don't want to offend anyone) Boc.The Friendly Stranger wrote:Sorry if I came across as an asshole. I understand that being an artist means that not everybody is going to like any and everything I put out. I am very grateful for any sort of feedback I get because now I know what I need to improve: tempo. And when I get good feedback, people like it and I know what I'm doing right. So thanks everyone.
And if any of you liked even a little bit of my EP, then it would make me happy if you kept listening. I'm about to release a single pretty soon and then start working on a full length and hopefully I can get it on CD or cassette if I'm very lucky, which I'm usually not, so expect CDs.
