Well it gives me hope for a new boc release anytime soon. Squarepusher might not be as big as BoC but still it's one of the bigger names in the scene and see how he got his new stuff presented. Out of the blue in a bleep newsletter. Announced 1.5 months in advance.

Reckon the new boc will be treated the same way or with a little bit more boom boom?

PS: that squarepusher video sounded meh

Just a souvenir was not a shit album. It just wasn't a Squarepusher album. Had some great moments. It maybe didn't come together as well as I might have hoped but you can't deny how talented he is.

He's a talented musician for sure. JAS was technically good in places, but everytime I try and give it another shot I find myself bored and uninterested with it very quickly :/

Go Plastic was more self indulgent than JAS imo.

Really nothing beats Solo Electric Bass 1 for self indulgence. That said the new clip sounds quite good actually, I just hope it isn't all in the same vein as it.

Well, that was wank. All the indulgence of bad metal.

That said, I've never managed to make it through a Squarepusher LP and like everything on it, so maybe this is just one of the duff tracks...

Is he blindly playing his bass ? Because it looks like he can't see alot with that Daft Punk-style
helmet/glasses LED-thing he's wearing.
Doesn't peak my interest at all I'm afraid.

No, you're not. Tom J has mad bass skillz and I think about everything he does is "awesome". I can see why people wouldn't like this though. I guess it's like alot of things- either love it or hate it.

I think this is an album made for touring with. I bet attending a show with this theme would be pretty cool... I'd rather just see him behind a laptop banging his head though.

I must say, Fredd-E, your commitment to BoC and constant optimism is uplifting. I wish I could partake in your positive perspective about possible future publications. Alas, everytime I visit this place, I grow more and more skeptical.

PS: also, "meh" from me about that video.

Remember, he is a jazz musician first. Electronic second.
He had said once that electronic music is too easy to make. Seems like he is trying to merge his two skills. From first release to last, they get a little less electronicy.
