Ahh, lucid dreaming. Something that I am somewhat familiar with. I have lucid dreams from time to time by accident. Usually only once every few years. But I have successfully induced 2 lucid dreams on my own, and I have studied the subject quite extensively.

I would start by learning about DILD, and WILD. I have more recently been practicing WILD, but my past 2 experiences have been DILD ones.

I suppose I would start at the source... http://tinyurl.com/3x2fw9y

Closest I have had to a Lucid Dream would be in Sleep Paralysis. Where one can not move but is totally aware of his/her's surroundings. While awake you can hallucinate and hear things that are not really there while you're fully awake but totally paralyzed. It's pretty scary. I've had it twice.

During REM sleep the body paralyzes itself as a protection mechanism to prevent the movements that occur in the dream from causing the physical body to move. However, it is possible for this mechanism to be triggered before, during, or after normal sleep while the brain awakens. This can lead to a state where a person is lying in bed and feels paralyzed. Hypnagogic hallucination may occur in this state, especially auditory ones. Effects of sleep paralysis include heaviness or inability to move the muscles, rushing or pulsating noises, and brief hypnogogic imagery. Experiencing sleep paralysis is a necessary part of WILD, in which dreamers essentially detach their "dream" body from the paralyzed one. Also see OBE or Out-Of-Body-Experience, opposing the scientific theory of these occurrences stating that the paralysis is actually an occurrence to one who is already "separated" from their physical body meaning that "physical action potentials" have no effect here but "mental actions" do—a hint given that those who are finding difficulty moving are using the wrong "mechanism".

As far as a Lucid Dream. I am not sure. I know there are a ton of books on it. Or check it out here to get started:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream

Some other weird things when I dream are: I have been to many fake places over and over again. Whole cities. Schools that I have never been to. All kinds of places. Every once in a while I will be in some place I have created in my mind. It's cool. It's like I am watching a version of myself in a parallel universe and when I go to sleep he dreams of what I'm doing. Crazy.

Thanks alot! It's always been a topic that excites me. I think I'll try a WILD tonight because I'm always waking up in the middle of the night anyways.

I will direct you to http://www.ld4all.com/ which is a site that has really good information about lucid dreaming that can teach you techniques to be a lucid dreamer.

If you feel you need assistance however, I recommend Calea Zacatechichi (a reputable vendor is http://gaianbotanicals.com/store/produc ... cts_id/381) however I must say that it is the most bitter thing I have ever ingested but drinking a tea from this herb is a definitive way to lucid dream.

Been an on-and-off practicer of LDing for about 4 years now. www.dreamviews.com has good resources and good forums. Also you should start writing a dream journal, this helps with recall tremendously, and practice practice practice.

I take it you want to visualize colors when you hear sounds too.

Same thing happens to me, and my dreams are already really messed up to begin with. It's fun!

lucid dreaming in 4 steps

1: Dream Journal

Keep a dream journal, and read it every night before you go to bed (concentrate on recurring elements). This will help you remember your dreams when you wake up.

2: Reality check

After a couple of months of keeping that journal, and you remember most of your dreams, buy a watch (or something) that bleeps every 30 minutes. When it bleeps, do a reality-check. There are allot of them, but the best one is without a doubt reading something multiple times. If it stays THE SAME, you are AWAKE, if it DOESN'T, you are DREAMING. Make sure you concentrate on the capped statements while you are doing the check, you could get confused in your dream (and become extremely frustrated the next day)

3: Extra alarm clock

This is not really necessary, but it could come in handy. Set the alarm clock 3 hours before you really want to wake up. When it goes off you sit straight up, think about lucid dreaming and do some reality-checks before you go back to sleep. Drink a glass of water twice if you have to.

4: Have fun!
Throw away your smartphone.

I guess that means I can check off number one :D Also, I'll ask if i can borrow my brothers digital watch for the alarm part and digital clocks always change in dreams so I'll look at it intently every time it goes off. hope that works

I've had my share of people who do that. Anyway, I'm planning to try it over the weekend because no one would like it if I had a beeping watch all day in school.

I wish I had seen this earlier.

About 1 hour before your bedtime, start consuming all of this:

50mg of Vitamin B6
1mg of Melatonin
Then buy some sort of sedative tea with Valerian, Hops, Catnip, Chamomile, etc in it. The more of those the better.

Then avoid alcohol, other substances, and sleep. It doesn't work everytime. But- do that everynight for a few days and you'll quickly accumulate some pretty interesting full colour, in control, memories of active dreaming.

Had another lucid dream last night. It was awesome, I went flying all over the place. Flew past peoples windows, and they were all like: What the hell, is he flying?
