Hey all, wanted to see if anyone else has heard this yet. Recently dropped early on iTunes: http://www.eskmo.com/news/
There are a few standout tunes that grabbed me right away, including Cloudlight and The Melody, but I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing yet. Need a few more listens, especially in something other than mp3 format.
I for one am excited to hear the record. There were extended sound samples on Beatport yesterday - but today I couldn't find them again.
He tends to range between excellent and competent in the work I've seen from him - so I'm not entirely sure what to expect. Based on that single it's going to be awesome.
I would add though that 'needing to hear something on a different format' is typically not a good sign.

The main reason I'd like to hear it on vinyl is that Eskmo's music is really detailed...I'd like to hear those textures in full fidelity.
There are only one or two tunes that I don't enjoy that much..."We Got More" has some awesome production, but the vocals seem a bit silly to me. Other than that really, it's an excellent record.
IE: "Starships" is one of the more badass dubstep tunes I've heard in a while:
I'm not sure about it, really. Cloudlight is absolutely fantasttic, as his other EPs I've heard are amazing. But something's lacking on the LP. Maybe, like so many electronica artists, he just can't sustain for an album. He has got his own unique sound, but it's all a bit too the same, you know?

Hmm...after several listens now, I'm beginning to agree with you unfortunately.
