Ok as I'm at college and have nothing to do I'd like to throw some ideas out there (our server is blocking the second page of this topic so I can't just edit my last post )
What if we held it in May or something, when the UK starts to warm up again? Because if it's held anytime before then, those of us without proper camping equipment are fucked for warmth and staying dry.
If we could rent a van...project movies? lol, far fetched but it could be like an old school drive in movie like they have in America. The randomness. But seriously, I'd enjoy that.
Dungeness is a very odd place, but fantastic. On a good day you can see for many miles. ...Bit of a pity it's a desert really. Would be massively cold at night though, like hexagonLife said.

Maybe a good point, actually. We'll be trespassing anyway if we're hoping to get near those mammoth acoustic sound thingys. Still, some beats wouldn't be unappreciated I reckon, even if it's just CD's or iPods at a reasonable volume...the age of ghettoblasters has come and gone, how would people do this nowadays? (Apart from using the speaker on their phone at the back of a bus?)

I agree that May would be a far better time to do this. It's a bleak enough place as it is, without us all freezing to death out there. Amplification would be ace. Got a MicroKorg that will run off batteries...
How about a bunch of us get some Korg Monotrons for some analog experimentation?

Such a shame the only way to visit is by organised tour now - would have been perfect! I could be in, although it would really need to be Spring at the earliest as £$£ is a huge issue at the minute, and yeah the weather would be brassic once the sun dips below the horizon...

I'm digging Orford Ness, too actually. It's awesome that there's these desolate places in the UK that I've never heard of before, makes this country a little cool in my opinion. I'm happy to do this anywhere, so long as it is dry and reasonably warm (with sleeping bags), but obviously you can't predict the weather.
Would this just be a UK only thing or would any of our Dutch/Euro/Trans-Atlantic friends be joining us?
The problem we have is that outside of Scotland and parts of Dartmoor, wild camping in the UK isn't legal.
Not a huge problem if there are only a couple of you and you keep quiet about it, but combining it with a party, music, campfire, alcohol and a large bunch of people and before you know it some old dear has called the Fuzz because she thinks a bunch of 'hoodies' are having a rave.
I'm scouring Google Earth etc to try and find alternatives, but...
