hey guys, I had an account on here many many moons ago, figured I would just start over instead of diggin' out the old email yadda yadda...

Now that it's boctober I cannot see WARP trying to announce a new album for a 2010 release. I was excited to learn we would get a new album this year (back in january) but after waiting the whole year almost, it doesn't look like we will get a peep of news.
So do you guys think it will be early 2011 or more like Fall 2011? Even an update of the smallest kind would make me and all the fans very happy to know they are indeed at work. (official update)

If there's no announcement at 10:10 on 10/10/10 I will no longer believe there will be a BoC album this year.

i think they played that angle and the release dates probably won't have deeper meanings any more, the way they operate. but i had that same thought.

I beleive no new ablum will come out anymore. Just remixes, them producing tracks for people no one know and offering there music to beyonce's sister every so often so they can get their name in that crew.

I believe the album will be out this year, why are people not patient. MDG relayed that the album is scheduled for 2010 due to unexpected family stuff that the brothers had to deal with. Just be patient, it will be here when it's here, I DO know that much.[/list]

face it: Boards of Canada do not give a shit. IF there is a new album, it'll just show up in the record shops. there is not going to be any announcement. that's the angle they're gonna play this time around.

People are getting it all wrong, seriously...

They are obviously still making music, they don't have other jobs, and they have continually stated that "we will never stop making music."

So just wait for it, it's coming. I don't get why people get so pissed off about it, they don't owe anyone anything. A new album is a gift, not a right.

One of the biggest reasons I love the duo is because of how timeless the music is. Just enjoy it people.

I'm getting tired of the argument that boc owe us nothing. I agree, but still, people want a new album and the wait is long and sometimes frustrating. Nothing wrong with saying that on a a Boc-messageboard. The band not owing us anything got nothing to do with the desire for new music.

I know speculating is part of this forum, but I mean, we'll see.

We'll know the album isn't coming out in 2010 when it's the 1st of januari 2011. Simple as that. If it wont be 2010 (hope it's still coming 2010 ofcourse) maybe it'll be there in 2011. Just be patient, and discover new music in the meanwhile.

It IS hard having my hopes up all year, and still nothing

Ive stopped listening to BoC almost completely. I havent not listened to them (double negatives!) since 05 when I first heard them.

Heres my take on the album news.

MDG told us "2010 new album guranteed", and thats "insider information" which doesnt mean shit. Things can change at the drop of a hat. Im sure the brothers have a ton of shit going on, so they could have easily just said "fuck it" for a few months, pushing back release dates.
Now how often AFTER a record is announced is the release date pushed back further? In my experience, VERY OFTEN

I dont see any way an album could be released before the end of this year, but I have high hopes for spring 2011
