Is there any BoC songs that you just don't get?

I'm going to have to go with "Basefree" on this. It has practically no melody, and that's something that seems to be a central element in BOC's music. And the drums sound awkward.

And I love Geogaddi to death. Probably about the same as MHTRTC. But I have to be in a specific mood to enjoy the crazy three track run from "I Saw Drones" to "A is to B is to C." Those tracks are especially disturbing, almost evil.

Hey, welcome Aidref. :) I'm sure you'll like it here.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I love every song BoC has done. I admit some of the old tunes are a bit bland. But I still get them to an extent.

I don't really like this thread so much. I respect that it's here, but I think we should stay positive about music. You know? talk more about the songs we like instead of tearing down the ones we don't like as much.

Sorry for the mini rant. I'm high on Gabapentin and am tired.

Yeah, I think you're right. I was just bored when I started it. I like 99% of all boC tracks.

I'm happy for someone to remove this thread incase BoC have a browse through it one day!

I dunno really, having a critical attitude to what you love is a healthy thing, keeps it more interesting. That song I mentioned is a rare thing for me though, it doesn't annoy me all the time, it kind of works in the album in a very weird way

Ya, I just can't get anything before Hi Scores.
I search and search, and can't find Catalog 3, Hooper Bay, Acid Memories, Play by Numbers etc. ANYWHERE.

I'll never get those :(

They're not online. Just the old tapes.

I don't think that is the point of this thread.

I disagree. The last thing I need is for them to think that House of Abin'adab needs to ever see the light of day on anything they ever produce in the future.

Fair enough. I must have missed that part.

Also, XYZ is quite fantastic. I can't imagine anyone not liking that song.

farewell fire does seem a little out of place since it's right after tears from the compound eye..
two slow, yet pretty songs in a row is a little weird..

on its own merits, however, i do rather enjoy a listen to it every once and a while..

Of course we do not "get" sarcasm. Sarcasm is not a tangible item, which one can "get."

I'm going to go there and listen to Geogaddi until I transcend.

None has mentionned "Music for Pylon" ? Seriously, it's dopey. I mean... I like the concept, it's funny in a way, but it isn't good. At all. Same for "Iced Cooly". There is something freak about it, and it doesn't feel as sweet than the freakyness of "Eagle in your mind".
Also, two years ago, I would've said I loved Campfire and hated Geogaddi... I would skip 80% of this album. But now, I just love 99% of it ("Devil in the detail" still escapes me...). And the ending of Camp (Slow this bird, tear, farewell) is just...too... long... Imo
But hey, overall, i'm an optimistic guy! :P :D
