They're definitely under the radar where I live, Oakland CA. You can imagine the kind of crapola I hear at school and on the radio.

Yeah, BoC is MOS DEF under the radar most places here in the US, unless you're among a group of people who listen to warp artists, or some real music connoisseurs, most people will think you just said, "Doors of Panda"....

sorray, but boc is about as known as a band that will never have a radio/mtv hit gets. yep.
Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto and the BOC brothers are mutual fans of each others work. Even got them to remix him. Hopefully he'll return the favor.

Essentially, yer man from The Go! Team picked out 'Music Has The Right...' as one of his most important albums. And later in the interview about his own new album:
"..one song might be a Radiophonics Workshop interlude or a theme tune to an Open University programme.....with the track Yosemite for example, I was imagining a scenario where you're discovering and old VHS which is really fucked up, and it could be a documentary about Yosemite Park.... I'm imagining things like time lapsing through seasons or shots of eagles with a voiceover in the background [adopts exaggerated American Attenborough voice] 'The eagles ride the thermal...'....
We actually put the whole album on cassette at the very last stage, so it's got this grain sound around it....I like tape hiss"
Anyone got the number for BoC's solicitor? I think they might be needed!
Ian Parton (The Go! Team) recently stated in an interview that BOC is one of his major inspirations. The artwork for "Rolling Blackouts" features hexagons and one of the tracks is called "Super Triangle". All three albums also frequently feature children's voices etc. Everything is there, which is fascinating since the overall feel of the music is quite different. If BOC made an album of brass samples and a marching band it would however sound quite a lot like The Go! Team.
