I noticed that BoC fans are very divers of character, but most of them have some kind of "laidback" attitude

In all honesty, my last posting was a rather poor attempt at sarcasm. I'm actually pretty laid back myself. Unfortunately, I've only met one other person who likes Boards of Canada, and he worked at the bloody record store, so I'm glad to hear that there is diversity amongst us. And on the question of drugs and alcohol: booze=yes, drugs=not anymore, and drugs+BoC= a definite HELL NO! Oh, and the beard thing, it's more of a necessity due to my lack of a jaw and/or chin. Thank you.

There's an emptiness in my life. I've never met a BOC fan in person. I swear I'm the only addict within a 100 mile radius (+/- 12 miles). Then again, I shouldn't be surprised because I'm living in Wisconsin. If it doesn't have to do with deerhunting or cheesemunching, we don't have it. Woe is me!
I wouldn't be surprised if all of this is just a mind-trip. There is no BOC. There is no Twoism fan board. There is no spoon.

Pretty sure hipster-hate is on its way out. And the term "hipster" itself was first revived around 2000, although I saw it the most from 2005 - 2008 or so. '07 - '08 were the years of big magazine / media stories on "hipsters":

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style ... 94199.html
http://www.adbusters.org/magazine/79/hipster.html
And since I don't know any BoC fans, I have no data from which to infer what they are like.

offtopic:
hipster jokes are kinda shitty and too easy, like jokes about George Bush...
I personally have nothing against music or clothes that would be considered "hipster-ish", I probably fall into that category anyway...what I don't like is the whole elitist hipster attitude, i.e "you can't like this band only I'm aloud to like this band" "their early stuff is so much better" "I liked them before you had heard of them" etc.
bash hipsters for that, not the way they dress!

Being pretentious is like racism, no matter how much you say you aren't, you are. You're either hipster-fag pretentious or scrooge pretentious.
I'm definitely on the scrooge end of the meter, therefore BoC had nothing to do with that as I've been like that the majority of my life.
I can't speak for anyone else though as I don't know any other fans and I can't read sarcasm.
