maybe is not so similar, but the first xela (for frosty morning and summer nights) reminds me something of BoC. attitude. "last breath" sounds like the atmosphere we can feel by "in a beautiful place.."

Hi all,
My recent album has been described by a few as having a lot of similarity with BOCs style. I can see the point with a few of the tracks, but it's mainly because I use a lot of the same synths as them. I wouldn't describe myself as a BOC clone though. There's a review here.
(Although I did an MP3 release recently in a *very* similar style, just to have a laugh at some of the folks accusing me of ripping them off - it's here if you want to check it - to be honest though, I'm quite pleased with it, and it's now been release on hippocamp.net, release HC100).

cheers,
phasic

Just remembered - a lot of people compare Christ (Benbecula records) with BOC, but I don't see much similarity myself. I think he either used to be in BOC in the early days, or was/is involved with Hexagon Sun though, so that's probably why people make the comparison.

Christ was one of the original members of the Hexagon Sun collective if memory serves me correct....In fact he helped in making the Twoism ep....then he left leaving us with the 2 members we currently have

Although not a clone (that would be asking too much) the closest sounding I've heard is Bliss's Goodbye Brain, Hello Heart EP. Very much like a cross between BoC and My Bloody Valentine.

Wow! Kelpe is amazing! I visited the website and after listening to two samples I decided that I needed to get it. That's the problem, though --- nowhere to be found? Best price I can find is $25, which I would pay, but if I'm going to put out that kind of cash, I'd rather it go directly to the artist so he can keep making those groovy tunes. Suggestions?

Where'd you folks find this guy, anyway?

The handwriting on Tychos album cover reminds me of Sigur Ros' ( ) album.

The thing about BOC is that they have a sound all of their own, I haven't really come across anybody that has managed to "copy them".

There are a couple of tracks I would like to recommend though:

Check out "Walking with whistlers" by "14 Is My Number 1" over at electromancer: http://www.electromancer.com/artist.php?id=1103042095

If you can find a copy of a compo called option.fm (http://www.discogs.com/release/50636), I also recommend checking out Snow's "Frequency 019" track.

A new french band called Saycet (http://www.myspace.com/saycet) has some cool stuff as well. Especially a track called "Trilogie"
Never compromise your art, keep it close to your heart.
