yeah, well that's Pitchfork isn't it? They can be a right bunch of trendy tossers sometimes IMO

Some guy at pitchfork rates it a 6, don't care. Reviews are shite.

I kind of agree with them in a sense. If you read the review you'll see they're not really complaining about the material on the EP, just that there's not enough of it. I'd still give it a higher rating than that, though.

quite a fair review i thought, and i don't really care much for reviews, but it hits on what i've been feeling about the EP...apart from the remix coz i think that's killer!

Couldn't agree with the review more. I'm sorry, I find Pitchfork consistently on the button. Trendy tossers!

Well, as a fan the review is practiacally meaningless. And I don't mean to come across as a "they can do no wrong" type.

Yes, I agree it's not quiet as perfectly formed as earlier EPs but if this was the first BOC thing I'd ever picked up that would hardly matter.

Meh, I'm happy with the new tracks.

This review from Boomkat makes the ep sound a bit more tantalizing imo, but then again they want you to buy it from them so of course they're gonna leave out any flaws.

I don't think the Pitcfork review is terrible, but I would've given it a solid 7.0. The only thing I don't agree with is the guys opinion on Skyliner. I think it's the best on the ep, as I've stated before.

I think the Pitchfork guy is right on the money.

He articulated what I was trying to say about this CD the other day- it's got some great Boards material, but it's not great as a standalone product. I LOVE some of the tracks, LSD and Under the Coke Sign especially, but I think they're better suited to be cycled in on a playlist with the IPOD rather than listened to in the context of an supposedly coherent EP.

The Nosdam remix lacks any perceivable structure, relegating it to the realm of bizarre sleeping music (or a dope tune), I already have and for the moment have exhausted Dayvan, and Skyliner is good but it is distractingly harsh in the context of the other three lush (and very beautiful) Boards tracks.

Anyways this post is too long. Everything said I'm glad I have the EP, I just don't think I'll ever be popping it in solo like I do IABPOITC. It's just not coherent enough.

I still think they were wrong about Campfire, though.

I agree with most of what this guy has to say.

If I had to give the EP a rating I'd say 6 out of 10 was about right overall. An OK EP, but no more.

Bye, kozmikoid.

6 out of 10 for a BoC release? or 6 out of 10 compared to all music?

The only tune I need on this Ep is Left Side Drive, that track just makes it for me. I just hope we see a little empty box on the BoC site soon.
