Classic Gaming/Consoles

Post by polar sky »

Anyone into classic video games/consoles? I just dug out my SNES that I had since I was a kid last night and was playing some Super Mario Allstars and it still works perfectly. I am about to buy this never used NES too off of Craigs list:

Yes! I still have my older brother's Sega Megadrive (Genesis to some) and a bunch of great games.. Sonic 3, Streets of Rage 2, Bubsy, Tiny Toons.. Splatterhouse, Mortal Kombat 2... Awesome stuff! Sometimes I bust the old gear out and am always astonished at how bad I am at gaming :D

I wasn't allowed to play Splatterhouse or Mortal Kombat when I was younger :D too violent :P... I guess they are pretty darn violating though.

snes is like my all time favorite console, nothing will top it in my opinion, the only close ones were n64, the original play station, and the older game boys.

i still play super mario world 1-2, mario all stars, mario kart, mario paint, super metroid, all 3 super star wars games, joe and mac, cool spot, goof troop, etc etc etc

I have my snes and nes and original gameboy somewhere at my parents house. I use an emulator when I feel the need to play those games.

I still have my NES that I got when I was a little kid. My little sister stuck a piece of candy in the cartridge slot and I had to take it apart to remove it. I have 2 copies each of Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, and 3, and Dr. Mario, and I have no clue how I came to have these 4 duplicates.

um YEAH.

i still have my NES, Power Pad, Power Glove with original box, two Freedom Sticks, a Zapper....

Two original Game Boys, two Game Boy Pockets

SNES

Sega Genesis, Sega 32x, Sega Multi Mega, two Sega Game Gears

i hold true to my conviction that the NES bore some of THE COOLEST and THE BEST design aesthetic EVER. EVER. EVER in human history. This "futuristic from 1985" look HAS to be revived, somebody please PLEASE do this. Angles, blocks, big fat bold streaks of black and red, and gray, gray, GRAY.

Is that FPS or cool Japanese shooters like Axelay, Einhander and DoDonPachi?

We were all on Ataris and Commodores rather than NES over here. Loved the SNES though. Super Metroid, Zelda and F-Zero. Super Mario World gives me an instant nostalgia hit.

Almost the same - NES and PS1 - especially love arcades, 3d-actions and FPS :)

Yep, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Genesis (though not the orig., but the Gen 3, a really weird looking system lol), and PS1. Dying to own a Sega Saturn (though I'm not sure if that falls into classic console category lol).

I'm all about the atari lynx. An absolutely under-rated console that never really took off, but a classic piece of kit. I mean, it was highly rubbish in many ways, but that was part of the charm.

I currently have a AV Famicom and about 100 games. (NES model 2 in Japan.) Keep checking the the shops for a working Disc System but cant seem to find one. Loving Moaikun, Boulder Dash, Air Fortress and Guardic Gaidan currently.

Snes is the best console ever made, the Donkey Kong country's, Super Mario Kart, Zelda, Killer Instinct, the Mario games. Man, good times. I still need to find 1 somewhere ;(

I have the Nes, but I kinda think it sucks. Snes all the way!
