The Sims

Fun game, or waste of time?

I'm in the middle, as I like the architectural elements of it.

All I remember from my time playing Sims games was setting houses on fire and torturing characters by enclosing them in small spaces.

A game that looses it's fun factor very quickly to me. Never could get into it. You can actually sit at your computer and watch your sim sit at his/her computer... Retarded.

Yeah... same here. But even then, if you want to torture virtual characters, there are better games for it than The Sims.

I played it a lot back in the days, when only the basic Sims1 was released. I used to surround the toilet by a swimming pool, so whenever they finished going to the toilet, they had to swim to the rest of the house again, and they would need to pee very quickly again.

I know, I didn't have a life back then ;p

Both of course - like most computer games.

Seriously though, I got into it hugely a number of years ago, but it's (still) SimCity that I prefer. Sim City 4 was (is?) the nuts. And a total waste of time.

Ditto Football Manager btw.

I can play the 4th build song from Sims 1 on piano. :D

I played the shit out of the first one, I got the third one from a friend but it didn't really hold my interest.

there were a couple of months last summer where i did nothing except play openttd. it's so preposterously addicting and challenging.

railway signals/junctions around small maps... aircrafts and bus stations to other cities... strip mining coal like it's cool. it's all coming back to me.

Nice, somebody who loves this as well. I go back to this game like once every 2 years, and it turns into a 2 month addiction every time. Soundtrack is the best ever, Sawyers Tune is the shit!
