I'm gonna wait for the actual cd to hear it and be dissapointed.

Also , did Bibio make the video for 'Excuses' himself ? I would guess so but it wasn't ever mentioned?
The video footage itself is seriously awesome and looks like it took a long time to make.
i do believe its this guy - http://vimeo.com/michaelrobinson

Just checked my blue Boards of Canada shirt I got from Bleep. It's American Apparel.
Ahhh, so massive shrinkage should be expected?

And thanks a lot for checking, man!
I have an Aphex shirt, a Bibio shirt and a Boards shirt, and none have shrunk at all. But I follow the instructions carefully on those shirts when I wash 'em: cold water, inside out, low heat tumble dry. They come out fresh and looking like new every time. The Boards shirt is a couple years old and still looks new.

It seems this guy did the video , but bibio made some footage himself too apparently , check out the link for an interview posted on that page :
http://taraswenson.tumblr.com/post/3207994870 :

"...For “Excuses” Stephen had picked up an oscilloscope, and learned how to program Lissajous figures, shot clean from a tube camera and his 5D. He did some tweaking and compositing of the footage on his end and colour toned the forms. I began to sculpt that footage by compositing various forms together – so what looks like something that was created digitally or with a synthesizer was actually not. Another section that looks like it could be digitally created – was simply made by filming video feedback and various CRT monitor flashes on my end, and using the source footage to create different combinations to the rhythm. I was very excited about this album. It's more cohesive than AA but AA was a delight for me. Maybe because he blended some real song writing of the folk variety (I absolutely adore palm of your wave and his remix waltz version) My favorites on the album are Haikuesque and Sugarette which couldn't be more different.

Anyway this album is interesting, its really got some good soul/funk stuff happening that takes me back to '69-72. If I take it as it is I really like parts of it but am not as impressed as I was with AA. That is okay. Bibio is a flexible artist and I always seem to find something interesting in the sounds he puts together and his voice really works with what he is doing too.

Just to note, I'm digging "K is for Kelson" much more than "Excuses". My bleep newsletter mentioned there might be a new video--I'm looking forward to it. I don't know why, but I end up thinking of my cute and spunky (but still murderous) kitties when I hear that song.

If you pre-ordered from Bleep you should have received a message today telling you that Excuses single is available for free in your downloads section.

The album packaging is gorgeous. Quality material, beautiful design. I want to buy the vinyl just to have it bigger.

Also, P4K review. BAH.

Yeah. Vinyl packaging is indeed lovely. It'll get wrecked unless I keep it in a plastic sleeve though...

Artists' Valley sounds like it contains samples from Loafe and Merge's Leaves of Glass. It probably is since Loafe and Merge where one of the original AV artists.

The kelson video is nice. Again, I dig that track more than excuses, but that doesn't mean I didn't like excuses.

The album is great. I am amazed at the artist's output, both the quantity of the past couple years and the quality. Personally, I *really* dig vignetting, but my family enjoys more structured, lyrical stuff, so we get a nice blend and compromise with Bibio (my wife and son don't dig Boards at all, unfortunately). I find it hard to believe just how much variety his work encompasses: I started listening to bibio when Hand Cranked was released, and I don't think that in those days I could have ever predicted the directions he would take. Once he did the remix for Wax Stag, I wondered at the time why he didn't pursue that twisted-pop sound, but obviously he did and I think it suits his talents well.

The album is good but I feel as if it really pales in comparison to ambivalence avenue and sometimes feels as if he's trying too hard on the new album? Maybe it's just me.. I hope it grows on me, I really like the concept of some of the tracks but the lack of consistency bothers me a little.
