If you were to ask BoC one question...

Post by lurkingrecords »

Obviously with the big release speculation most people would ask when it's going to drop, but does anyone have another question they'd like to ask them?

I've thought about it for a while now, I'd ask if after they finish an album do they enjoy listening to their own music (obviously excluding their final "ship it!" review), or do they leave it alone and not "revisit" the experience? I'm curious because some artists treat their music as something that just needs to be expressed as opposed to something that they made for personal listening enjoyment.

I couldn't think of a single question to ask them, but there is a great conversation that i would start if i ever got the chance to meet them. I would want to hear their outlook toward nostalgic memories and their ability to create emotional moods from their melodies.

I would ask them what their inspiration was when making the black box.

I'd probably ask them what is their inspiration for most of their song titles.

Honestly, I'd just ask when the next album is coming out, or in what state it is at at the moment :)

Hm. Good topic btw

I think I would have to ask them how they feel their separate albums stand as statements of their creative evolution.

I'd ask them what their favourite computer game is and if they want me to hand them their collective asses at it!

I'd more realisicaly ask them for feedback on my music probably, or something along thoes lines.

Do you use any software to sequence your music? What is your workflow in the past 6 years?

I wouldn't as much as ask them anything as much as I would tell them how much they have changed my life.

If I could ask them 1 question what would it be

WHY?

I think they would give an appropriate answer
"We're just a band. Not an IDM band, not an electronic band, and not a dance band."

"An imaginary road trip in a rusty pick-up heading west through the brain"

The two people I yearn to meet before I die. I'd love nothing more to just talk with them. Not so much a Q&A, but just sit down and have a conversation with them to see what they're like.

I don't understand why so often, unusual artwork (incl. music) is assumed to be drug induced. I've never taken any and I could conjure up music and artwork as complex and strange as anyone.
Whether BoC has or not, it's silly to always assume drugs are involved.

Salvador Dali never took drugs, but most folks would assume he did from looking at his artwork.

People can have very surreal dreams too.

If the band splits up, will you release all the tracks you've never ever released?
