I really can't stand to look at their bland boring looking forum, it's so dull and lifeless.

Hi,

I'm really looking forward the new one, I hope that their will , again, mix some folk guitar (in their own way of course) with vintage keyboard as they did with the last one ! By the way, sorry to bother, but I think that one of my friend’s work is connected to them in some ways, that’s why I’m posting here… If you want to check his pages, I just want to help him (He just released an LP of 20 instrumental tracks and he does photos et drawings) :

Have a nice day !

Hey buddy, you should post that in "This random sound" board (I usually don't post nazi, but plugging your friends band in a strictly Boards of Canada topic is "meh."

I'll check it out though :)

I think the people at WATMM can be a bit too cynical. Which is why I post more at this board than that board.

At the same time, I think sometimes users on this board can be a little too overly optimistic, and wishful thinkers. I'm still skeptical about BoC speculation and a new album, but I'm not going to be a bitter ol' fuck about it.

I'll take overly positive people over overly negative people any day. The internet is just a breeding ground for bitter cynics, so Twoism is a pleasant change in my opinion.

The strange thing is that most forums I've seen that revolve around musicians, are kind and positive. WATMM is an anomaly in that way.

It depends on what you're looking for in a message board. It really is okay to have a little bit of off-kilter humor, a few arguments, a few random stories by colorful individuals. I mean, I look back at this site again months later and it's still the same, which is good or bad depending on your point of view.

I like the music Boards of Canada has made so far, but I dislike this message board because so many posters here are so sensitive and boring. And it feels like a little boy's club where you all give each other back rubs and tell each other everything will be okay while you watch cartoons from the 80's.

some of us have grown up some and dropped the whole "the internet is my space to facelessly troll people and have rolling lol's at the expense of a stranger's self esteem" gag, i don't know. i for one am incredibly relieved to have this one place online here where people are actually supportive and enthusiastic about anything at all. if i want to read callous threads about jerking off, we'll know where to find it

You are so far off the mark with that comment.

I read the thread over at WATMM from yesterday, and it wasn't "off-kilter humor, a few arguments, a few random stories by colorful people". It was two Assholes going back and forth trolling eachother. Even after the thread was deleted, it spilled over into another thread causing it to be closed. You just don't see that kind of shit here. Sure, people have arguments and disagreements here. Turquoise70 and I had one a while back, but it only lasted a few posts. And we didn't go around trolling eachother after it was over. We made our points and moved on.

I think Twoism has a higher standard than WATMM. We're not 'sensitive' or 'boring'. We're not 'rubbing each others backs'. Most people here are intelligent and don't waste their time -or others time- bashing and trolling other members. We just don't want that kind of shit here. And that's why people like you go to WATMM, because you're just not welcome here.

Call us what you will, but we're not idiots. All of the idiots are now regulars over WATMM.

Edit: to be clear, I'm not generalizing everyone over there as idiots. I don't visit there much so I can't comment on everyone.

I agree with DP wholeheartedly, some of us here have taken this board close to ourselves and know each other as a community not just a pool of mindless posts (Which we do have a few of them, but it's certainly not of the same amount of some other board.)

Our threads have been getting AWFULLY de-railed lately and it's a shame. :?

What the fuck does any of this have to with music or more specifically the new Boards of Canada album :
evil:
A clearance in a wooded area, you startle a deer, it runs into the pines. Vast turquoise lakes and icy rivers, crisp mountain air. A bald eagle soars above. The distant sound of a chainsaw. Redwood smoke
