Hey... this isn't dandruff!
Okay, now I'm gonna dig up my discs and boot up scummvm. Someone really needs to make another 2D adventure game like that.
I was convinced they'd make a feature length film using exactly the look and feel of CMI. Disney wishes they drew those clouds!
Michael Land also did the music for the latest multi-part installment of Monkey Island but some of that magic seems to be lost. I can't quite put my finger on why.
Bad writing. Bad animation. It's not even funny anymore.
It had its moments! A classic gag that comes to mind is when you look at the socks that are strung up to dry on the pier. "Those socks look like they could use a good darning. *shakes fist* Darn you, socks!"
In that particular area of the map there's some decent Michael Land ambience, outside the glassblowers hut.
I didn't mind the story, the controls really were painful though. The problem might be more about the format; Monkey Island games are long. The short chapter format that Telltale uses doesn't quite have room enough to build the proper Monkey Island magic.
That said, I never got far through Monkey Island 4!
and back OT i'm still making my way through Portal 2. Enjoying the humor a lot and haven't got too struck/frustrated yet.
