I absolutely love the old DKC songs. Brilliant works. Has to be at the top of the list when it comes to video game music, hell, music in general. I believe we had a thread about DKC songs before, where it was discussed in length with tons of links. So If anyone is interested in more, look it up here on twoism.

I'm in total agreement.
I'm a man that does not strive for a certain genre, in his music. Ugliness among beauty. Or is the other way, around? Maybe just all ugly.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is probably my favorite obscure soundtrack. Check out this track:

Also an amazing game.

Oops!! I searched the forum for 'computer game music' not 'video game music' before starting my own thread which is basically the same as this!

If a mod wants to merge or move or something, please go ahead!

DK Country 3 - Treetop Tumble is a fav track of mine.

When you walked near the area where the T-rex would appear the music would change to something sinister and you couldn't help but feel afraid. I also liked that the music wasn't constant; the SFX work was good enough that a few quiet moments out in the jungle worked well.

Games with great music:
Riven (Robyn Miller)
Alice (Chris Vrenna)
Grim Fandango
X-Com Apocalypse
Half-Life (1)
All the Monkey Island games
Day of the Tentacle
Lemmings
Mario RPG
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country (all 4)

Trust me, I'll think of more...

Another one of my favs. It's had a lot of airtime in it's day. I got to do a brief Q&A with Chris Vrenna about how he went about putting it together, a long time ago. Old children's toys from ebay played a role, unsurprisingly!

Well this thread was intended to discuss easily forgotten/unpopular games and their music, so your thread is not necessarily the same.

Grand! Then I submit Lords of The Realm II, Keith Kizza apparently. The "Scroll" tracks are good countryside wandering sort of feel to them. Made in 1996 it's an interesting combination of synth and samples.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War

horribly underrated game. absolutely incredible. gameplay/cinematics/storyline/and MUSIC.

a mix between electronica, opera, and flamenco. absolutely fantastic.

best song in the game (and one of my favorite video game songs of all time):

warning: be prepared to be energized and, assuming you hear this in the morning, kick the rest of the day's ass.

(beat DROPS at 2:58 or so)

Some great musics in here; great video-game soundtracks are not to be scoffed at! I have a few favs, having been a game addict back in the '90's/early '00s... Man, coming back and listening to some of this stuff gives me a genuine rush!!!

Donkey Kong Country 2 - Forest Interlude, my fav track from an already stellar soundtrack...

Super Mario RPG - Smithy Theme

Streets Of Rage 3 - Night Club Theme!!!

Kirby's Dreamland 3 final boss theme... I love how hyper-active Kirby music can be!

Sin & Punishment - Agave, a great rail shooter from Japan...

Radiant Silvergun - Amazing Sega Saturn Shooter with a truly epic musical accompaniment...

Battle Garegga; a Japan-only shooter for the Sega Saturn... Fantastic electronic soundtrack!
I make music as Sweguno.

I just noticed that your Kakapo avatar moves at the same BPM as the last 'Battle Garegga' track I posted... He looks like he's dancing his face off!
