Bibio - Mind Bokeh (New Albun March 29 )
Moderator: Aesthetics
Got the album about a week now , and I've been listening to it daily.
It's really better than I had imagined because a lot of people seemed to be dissapointed.
It does fail a little as an album , but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of great songs and moments.
Currently really digging 'Anything New' , 'K is For Kelson' , 'Mind Bokeh' and 'Feminine Eye'
Also 'Take off Your Shirt' isn't as bad as many said before , I even like it more than 'More Excuses' for example.
'Anything New' has been in my head for the past week so it's really my favorite so far.

wow thanks for that video post. I didn't know what the name of the bonus track was. I love it; more than some of the standard mind bokeh tracks even. it sounds distinctly bibio to me, the synth is very bibio-ish.
I am looking for this track to buy in flac, but cannot find it. can anyone point me in the right direction???

Could you share the Bibio love with me?YELLOW wrote:As fas as I know it's not available anywhere besides the cd. I have a 320kbs mp3sevenELIXIR wrote:wow thanks for that video post. The song is obviously a tribute to BoC - even the name, 'Vertical Helican Stan' is totally Boards.
It's okay. A bit meh, really.

That's a bit unfair. I honestly didn't hear BoC in it when I first heard it but now you've mentioned it, yes there's something there. However, BoC don't own this sound and they've done very little like it, only Poppy Seed (Reprise) springs to mind. If you threw this on the end of Mind Bokeh, it wouldn't sound out of place at all.turquoise70 wrote:this is the kind of thing whichThe Friendly Stranger wrote:This is lovely! I don't think there's any harm in making reference to your influences in your music. If he did a whole album like this then yes, there would be a case to answer but the fact is he hasn't. When people talk about BoC ripoffs, these people often recycle the same BoC style in all of their stuff not showing any originality or diversity in their sound, and in that case I think the criticism is justified.
