Just listening to Fad Gadget.
My favourite synthpop is (in no particular order):
New Order
He Said
Depeche Mode
Wolfsheim
Heaven 17
Human League
The Presets ('Girl By The Sea' especially)
Gary Numan
John Foxx
Assemblage 23 (mainly the track 'Horizons' which is sublime)
Devo
Yello
Kraftwerk
Komputer (especially 'Valentina')
Pet Shop Boys
OMD
The Good Natured (Your Body Is A Machine)
Kraftwerk Orange (Pieface Records, I find Electro-boy very moving)
Casio Bastard (OK, so I made that one up)

Wow we have similar taste. I have He Said on CD I guess the first album is very hard to come by these days. And I love the Presets Girl in the Sea that was the best song of that year for me.
Recently I just discovered Chad Valley and Penguin Prison.. Oh wow both of these are just fantastically upbeat synth drenched wonders.

Right around the tine of it's release, I got Violator on cassette for my 10th birthday. I wore that tape out. I don't think I listened to anything else for the rest of the year. I still love that album 20 years later. It's a timeless classic.
It's definitely a great release, probably their most popular. I don't think I've even heard a DM track that I dislike. Ultra and Exiter are my least favorites. Black Celebration and Music for the Masses are my favorites.
