I need to smoke more often. Lit up the other night for perhaps only the 6th time in my life and slept like a baby. Also, hello everyone, I'm new.

I was out drinking with some friends tonight, and over the road from the place i was drinking was a friend and she knew these old guys who were talking about Jazz, acid and revelling in the 60's - they were offering this ridiculous looking spliff around, i had some and it was very nice green - nice and mellow, natural stuff i imagine, they probably grow the stuff themselves.. all in all very cool guys and now im nicely stoned.

Sup Turquoise. Happy to be here.

Any tips on increasing my usage and expanding my horizons? I dont really enjoy bud as a social drug, as I am far too much in my own head and even more introverted than usual, but I've been thinking recently of using it as a sleep aid. I'm pretty inexperienced, so I'm not really sure whether or not that is a good idea...

Any insights?

I wouldn't if I were you, you'll become too reliant on it to sleep. My friend did that and now he can't sleep without smoking a joint.

I would be hestitant but I've already exhausted all options without finding any solution to my problem. I've self diagnosed myself as having delayed sleep phase syndrome meaning that most nights I'm awake untill at least 4 AM (often later). I've tried all sorts of sleeping pills, and I have tried to change my habits in terms of staying off the computer at night etc. but nothing works for more than a couple days. It's actually really frustrating.

Have an appointment with a doctor on Monday but all my attempts in the past have failed, so Im not overly optimistic about it.

I think that smoking to fall asleep will just be a short term solution, in the long run it will make things worse. Hopefully your doctor can recommended more natural solutions - sleeping pills are just as bad. I used to have a similar problem when I was seriously ill a couple of years ago and tbh, the things that were suggested didn't help, it just eventually went away.

Last night I felt like I was dying and eventually as if I were inches from death but I fought it off, I thought the onsetting highness was because of my lack of sleep for the past couple days and as if nothing were real, everything was predetermined. I could see my actions 20 seconds in the future. The only reason I could remind myself that I was still alive was the fact that I could see childhood memories. Without being able to see those I would have thought I was trapped in this dream body, which felt like it was shedding with every breath. It's like someone detached my entire body every few seconds, another body growing in it's place.

It was like pins and needles only everywhere in my body and mental imagery was intense. I was being spoken to in a language indecipherable in english. I'm going to attempt to doodle out what some of the spoken words were when written down that were being said to me. Most of these words formed sentences which were deciphered by the way the shapes attached to the shape next to it.

I was so lost in my thinking. I thought I had lost all chances to live, and that this is what schizophrenia is like, and that my parents are going to see me acting like this, etc. Bad stuff to think about.

Searching deeply within myself I was finally able to find answers, and realize to myself that all of this imagery was echoes of my conscious mind and that I was just viewing the non sensicle subconscious, and that it was just the drugs that were lowering me into this experience like a breaded piece of fish into a vat of hot oil.

Before i started calming down I was convinced I was going to die if I didn't fall asleep, because for some reason I forgot that I wasn't really as sleep deprived as I thought. I thought that the trip was caused from sleep deprival, which it clearly wasn't, I was just convinced of it.

I suddenly remembered what it was like very young as a child with scarlet fever. I remembered what it was like at the peak of the madness. I remembered what it was like falling asleep at the hospital--- when you wake up and think "wow, 3 hours were over in 5 seconds" as if you had simply died and lost your memory about what happened---- well it was as if I were living in the moments that you normally would not remember. Was this the same sensation I would get when I'm dreaming, I simply forget about it? Are these forgotten dreams? Is this like what dreaming is really like?

The questions slowly sobered me up over the course of an hour or two, then I could finally fall asleep. I was getting open eye visuals of pretty nasty things, I was able to recognize that these visuals were induced by the drugs, that gained me a little bit of control. However my short term memory was so bad that I had to do this maybe a hundred times throughout the night to maintain control. I shouldn't have fought over trying to control it so much but I felt that if I didn't I was going to die. Everything made sense though. Everything, I finally knew what I was. I felt like I'd been skinned, but without pain.

In the morning I felt like a baby. I was reborn. I was given a second chance at living-- it was an amazing feeling. I'd conquered death. The times when I couldn't remember how to breathe, when I didn't know what I was in because I was looking into myself too deeply, when I couldn't figure out whether I was holding my breath or not, those times were all over, and I was born again.

No idea how much I've typed out but I just really needed to write this down somehow, hopefully this makes sense to people.

That's what my friend has told me, or just tripping out in general, but this was just from a batch of brownies and THC butter (well, a lot of it. The brownie was disgusting and wet from melted THC butter on the bottom. And for the butter he used 30 grams worth of buds). I had a sip of Smirnoff vodka beforehand but I doubt that contributed to anything.

Never heard of THC doing crazy stuff like this, maybe that's because I haven't looked into it enough >_< I know by just smoking I've never had anything happen like this. At one point I thought my friend had put LSD into the brownies instead or something :s

EDIT: I must also mention that I had a really intense kaleidoscope effect happen briefly. Looked very BoC esque, used the images in front of me but they looked like old photographs, and of course all kaleidoscope'd.

EDIT: Here's one of the open eye'd visuals I saw. This looks almost exactly like it.

I hate all this shit about strains of pot. There is good pot and bad pot, and sativa pot, and indica pot. Everything falls in some combination of those four. You're just being fucking stupid if you read " Classical indica mind-calmer as well, which is great for those who are prone to monkey-mindedness and need something to quiet it down. The body buzz isn't as strong as some other indicas, and exists mostly as a pleasant pressure in the chest. " and are expecting the same experience yourself.

I've had all kinds and they vary on taste and feeling. It's all breeding, like dogs. Cross this Dog with that Dog and you get this dog. It's not as simple as you are making it. Some strains grow fat, some grow skinny, some are purple some are orange, some are dark, some are light, some taste sweet some taste spicy... it can go on and on and on.

I do agree that everyone will experience it differently. I know some people that get sick on it. Some people that can't get high and some people that can't handle a lot of it and geek out a bit on it. It's all on how you process HTC imo.
