Bad Day

Post by ArbitersGround »

I have read a topic on this from a while back, but all the links were outdated.

Well, first, it appears that there are three Happy Cycling versions.

The first, Bad Day, which I believe was the original performance at the Peel Sessions. Which seems like a pretty infamous track.

The second, the one that was played on radio from the Peel Session.

And the third, which is the most cleaned up one on MHTRTC, the Peel Session CD, etc.

So, where can I find a way to hear Bad Day? I've searched and can't find it anywhere. It's literally the only track that fans have heard that I don't have downloaded on my computer.

And also, I'm not sure if I got where each Happy Cycling version was introduced, so if you guys want to clear that up for me, please feel totally free to.

Could it be the version on Old Tunes or maybe the website version?

I don't think so. I heard about it in this thread:

http://www.twoism.org/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight=

Apparently even BoC fans can agree it's a pretty bad track. I'm just very curious to hear it.

That thread had a link to an awful remix by Kid Loco. Is that what you are on about?

No, look at dp's post (and his reply to the Kid Loco track).

i'm pretty sure this is "Happy Cycling (Bad Day)". (at least it is labeled as such)

here it is, yo!

EDIT: it seems this is the same as the one played on the original broadcast of Peel Sessions, but the one on YouTube has most of the intro cut out.

EDIT 2: and it's not as bad as i'd remembered it. i quite like the outro even if it is abrupt to end.

Nice post dp!!!

I love the intro thing!!!!!!!! Makes the song that much eerier!

Do you have any physical releases? Or just downloads?

Well, if that's a bad BoC track then we may as well all give up making music right now! I love the extra eeriness to it and I'd say it's certainly no worse than the more commonly available mixes. Shame about the abrupt ending though...

...Just downloads. I know, I know, kind of like heresy to BoC fans.

To my knowledge, though, I have downloaded every track available to the public. Old Tunes, Hell Interface, all the short tracks from the old websites, the short 30-57 second samples from Play By Numbers, Acid Memories and Hooper Bay, etc.

I was surprised to hear it myself, because in the original thread about it, everyone said it was a very bad BoC track.

It sounds like they tried to shove too many songs into one another. I don't dislike this so much as it is to discordant for me given how much I like Happy Cycling.
