I was BORN when MHTRTC came out. Now that's sad.

Why?

That's pretty awesome. Us in the 80s, look what was coming out when we were born. Fucking....hair metal...and new wave synth pop.

It depends on how you look at it.
I really think we (30+) are blessed as I've seen the whole electronic music scene evolve, well not the entire electronic music development but at least the part where it took off (mid 80s).

I'm also blessed to have played with the first (LCD) computers with Donkey Kong and the likes: Atari, Commodore 64 (with cassette tape streamer ), Commodore Amiga 500. the first PC with monochrome monitors (where a 512kb Hard Disk was build in later on ), the coming into existence of music videos.... The birth of CD's, remote controls, VCRs, cellphones and whatnot. I've also watched TV in black and white. I've seen Michael Jackson doing the first Moonwalk on Motown 25 anniversary. Although all of this I still feel young (just turned 34) and I don't feel much different to when I was 20 but I do feel like I have experienced a lot in this electronic revolution.

Yeah. Every decade has had it's share of Good and Bad Musically. Since the 80s, I've always been a fan of Hip Hop and Electronic Music. I was one of the few if not the only person at my high school at the time to love both Public Enemy and Depeche Mode Equally. At least in my time that was a pretty rare thing. My early tastes made the transitions from House to Techno to Ambient and IDM pretty flawless.

Damn... I just realized that I have a cousin one year older than I and she just became a grandparent!

Yeah its always intrigued me the age range on here. I first heard MHTRTC in 1999 when I was 26 and its hard to imagine having been born in that year! Wow. Makes me think of all the great music that came out in 1972 and if my relationship to that music is like a 16 year old's relationship to BoC. Fascinating indeed.

So I only just missed the first computer, atari and commodore 64, the rest was in my bedroom growing up!

So I only just missed the first computer, atari and commodore 64, the rest was in my bedroom growing up! (being third child I got the older, cool stuff)
