I showed someone their remix of beck and she liked it a lot, but she was a fan of Beck in the first place!

Alright, so I hung out with her last night and handed her the CD. Now I'm just waiting for her to mention something about it :)

My mrs. is far more into electronic music than I so it was no problem to introduce her to BOC.

She loves MHTRTC and TCH.

Putting things into reverse, my seven-year-old son has been finding BOC stuff for me on Spotify, and found the A Beautiful Place Out In The Country EP for me.

Thanks, son.

I've always thought BoC to be a more solitary experience, I can imagine trying to introduce someone to the music who doesn't understand what they are all about could just pass them off as just another electronic group without a good listen through and understanding of their vision.

Well guys, she didn't like it very much. She was texting me this morning and told me she listened to it and proceeded to ask me why I listen to weird music :|Oh well though. At least she's sweet. I didn't exactly like BoC at first either.

I really don't know why any female would not enjoy listening to boc. I am female and I get fairly stressed with life in general, and there's no better way of relieving that stress than listening to boards. I just don't get it. Am I that different to 'most' girls? There must be more of us out there.

I hate that shit. It's easily the reaction I find most annoying whenever people listen to music they aren't used to.

They messed up your play and you're thanking them?

Hell, I don't care. It's not like handing her a CD made her lose interest in me and if it did, it doesn't matter. More bitches, y'know? Still, I was really into her. I'll get over it though.

Best strategy is to agree to be friends and perhaps lie that you didn't think of her that way anyway (unless you've made it too clear that you do like her). It'll put her guard down.

But yeah, that initial reaction you got (her calling it weird) would've been enough for me to drop her automatically.
I don't care if a girl and I can't agree on anything. But if she doesn't like the same or similar music then goodbye, have a nice life.
Music is too important to me.

I also like skinny confident girls with with a pretty face and breasts no larger than a C. But that's just me.

So you're single?
good way into the friendzone/creeper territory. And any sort of relationship that gets to the point where you're sharing mix cds but has been built on a lie- probably not going to go very far. A better way to diffuse a situation where you're confronted with the cranky wary side of the girl you like? humor. Or just pretend that worrying about stuff/white knighting/whiny moods are beneath you. A lie to yourself... I'm pretty sure you and you will get along afterwards. You and her? maybe not. But really. Lies = no dice. Humor and Stoicism are really the keys to getting along.

come on this is just shallow.
and god forbid someone doesn't get something that's largely a personal experience on the first go.

Yeah. Good points. To tell the truth, on paper that's the way I think but when I'm actually out and about I don't really think that way. When I actually meet and talk to someone I like then all of my "rules" seem to disappear.

Humor is a really good tool. You don't really know someone until you can make them laugh everytime. I'm good at that, finding and remembering girls' senses of humor.
I know so many that will run to me and hug me, and I never used anything except humor and kind words.

Yeah I guess what I said is pretty shallow, but it's more representative of my faceless online persona than my actual one.

And I don't have a relationship based on lies, more like brutal honesty. I was mostly kidding but I guess I really shouldn't be telling others to lie. Sorry.
