I paid a bit of dosh for the black vinyl edition of SAW II (1000 copies) and the audiophille version of Drukqs (1000 copies) but there was a lot of tunes in return!

I would be happy to pay 200 pounds for this, that to me seems a fair and just price. Starting at 400 pounds is a bit deranged lol.

If the record sleeve had the Twoism artwork covering the whole thing and not that generic white sleeve than I would get it. But It looks exactly the same! Minus the Warp Logo and Chris H. It would have to have something more than that to get me to buy it.

There have been two instances of this sold on discogs, both over 800 €, one of them close to 900 if I remember correctly.

I have to confess, I’d but this if I had the money. You have to remember what this physical record actually is: the first vinyl appearance(that we definitely know of) of one of the most ground breaking & influential recording artists of the last 20 years(in my opinion!!), privately pressed in a limited run of 100 copies. It’s no different in my mind than forking out for an original Warhol print, or a first edition copy of say, Ulysses. In fact, it’s pittance compared to what those would actually go for at auction.

But I suppose, that’s just the record collector in me coming out!

I totally disagree, I don't really believe in owning art in that way anyway.. even though this is really rare and cool, at the very end of the day the songs are widely available and it is only a vinyl disc.

If someone gave me the choice of 400 quid or that vinyl, i'd choose the money because I dont really think that price is genuinely acceptable, 100 pounds would be a good price - it's sellers like these which encourage even more outrageous bidding which is just obsurd
The vinyl will probably never get played because of its scarcity, just sit on someones shelf collecting dust .. close to 1000 pounds for that? pass...

For me their music isnt about who has this rare copy or this first pressing... the enjoyment i get from my old cd copy of Music has the right to Children or any of their back catalogue for that matter is far superior to owning this harbourer of dust.

I guess that what it boils down to is value. By value, I mean what is something worth to you. I personally wouldn't pay it, but then other's think I'm nuts for buying vinyl copies of music I already own on CD and MP3 anyway.

If YOU think it's worth it, then it is for you.
If you don't, then it isn't.

Sounds simplistic, but there you go.

Yeah, you're totally right. It's obviously how much you love the items you buy, what it means to own it. For me, it's just another vinyl in a pile of other rare vinyl. It's kinda like clothes, dont buy nice clothes if you aren't going to wear them..

I agree, and also on that matter, I'm not sure why so many vinyl fanatics today INSIST on asking me over and over again why I prefer the CD format over vinyl...

I want the vinyl, but not limited copies or anything, i do have a record collection of vinyl - but all i want is the official releases which aren't really overpriced.
