Maybe it's been brought up before here, but folks, this man is pretty much the greatest stand up comic to walk the Earth, IMO. If you've not heard of him, I suggest you check him out. If you have, I'd like to know your opinion. This man's various philosophies essentially added so much to my life when there was a complete void, and I listened to his albums alongside Boards of Canada. You'd be suprised how well IDM and laughter go together.

He is my favorite and always will be. Just saw the new documentary, 'American: The Bill Hicks Story', and it was fantastic! Best documentary about him. It's on Netflix HD on instant view.

Loved it too. Showed my friend who'd never heard of him it. He was basically just like "Man, he was way ahead of his time."
I have Bill Hicks Live on DVD, which is a compilation of his three most popular performances: One Night Stand, Relentless, and Revelations. My personal favorite is definitely Arizona Bay.
He had acute observations about the the social and political institutions that mirrored much of my own cynicism that I couldn't help but love the guy. Hick's words came like a serrated blade to the chest; a precise incision directly to the heart that no breastplate could protect.

Although, as of recent, I've been really into Dylan Moran. I finally got around to watching Black Books earlier this year, and from there I've watched all his available stand-up material. Fantastic insight and material!
