Music blogs don't work for me. I'm very selective when it comes to art, especially music, and because my personal reasons for enjoying a particular piece of music deviates significantly from the reasons of the general population/music reviewers, the logic they apply to give me recommendations doesn't work either. That is to say, and I mean it in a neutral and non self-deprecating way, I'm fairly schizoid when it comes to this. I think I often like music for its easily overlooked details rather than the main aesthetic and message that it tries to communicate, which is generally the primary reason for appreciation of its main audience. Hope that makes sense. Some years back I tried Pitchfork for a while and downloaded everything that got a high rating and listened to it all but thought most of it was a load of crap. Nowadays I find music the "hard" way: just endlessly clicking on random Youtube music video's.

I don't read blogs much because they're blocked at work. And I'm too busy when not at work to sit at a computer. So I only occasionally read them from my phone in down time.

Yeah me too. Its about the only one I count on rather consistently because of the whole esthetic that Scott is going for.

Other than that I used to listen to KCRW Metropolis until the show stopped because Jason took over morning becomes eclectic. But over all its a great station. I listened to it faithfully when I lived in LA and was very happy when they made it available for live streaming in 2001.
