Really nice mellow jam, the hats sound a little too loud/sharp to my ears, YouTube's compression probably caused some of that though. Other than that very nice!

thanks, as in the previous case, the drums are recorded with just 1 mic, its their natural sound in the room basically, the playing has deliberate emphasis on the hihats.

but if I have to say... I agree with the hi hat thing, my ears hurt... D:

It's a Goodun Nurthice! Just EQ those drums a bit and should be perfect.. If you still want it high just gate them accordingly I guess. Good Job

thanks a lot for the feedback mates

it's true, mixing was done in one night, i stopped when the sun came out. i guess my ears were too tired in the end to feel that the hihats were too harsh.

i did a new mix after your remarks, i tried to keep the feel of the hihat (it's supposed to dominate actually), and still reduce the harshness. check it out and let me know what you think:
