Nurthice - Otono - download
So it's been almost 2 years since this one came out, I hope the guys from vu-us don't mind, but I'm posting a link for download:

After all, if you like it, buy it.
Cheers

An absolute gem here! This album breathes tranquility and vivid tones that are bound to set your sails on an epic journey! I've been watching Nurthice's stuff for some time now, and he has shown a tremendous amount of talent. Huge thanks for the d/l, will support when I can man!

Man, it took me quite a while to set myself free from my unnatural Nurthice obsession the last time around and then this happens! Overdose is imminent (again)!
But seriously, wonderful wonderful work! "Moon Fox" was my personal anthem for many many months, and I suspect it will be once more.

The song Today took me by surprise. I was listening and browsing the net when the song made me look where the music was coming from. Sure I knew I'd put on the album but it sounded so polished that it made me think for a moment I had something else on.
I like all the styles that are on this release, they all sound so authentical. They are all ridiculously well produced. I hear influenced by Boards of Canada, Thievery Corporation, Morcheeba, 40 Winks, Bibio and rez perhaps?

Kiwibaws: glad you like it. I've been producing more consistently since 2000, when I was 13. But my first reel-to-reel tape recorder was actually one of my first toys, when I was about 2. I've been playing with sounds for as long as I can remember - at school with my first band, starting when I was about 7, we recorded some of our own tunes. We did multitracks by recording one cassette, then playing on top and recording the result on the reel-to-reel. It sounded really degraded, that's why I was really excited when I got my first software for making multitracks.
So given this, I can't say I'm really into the technical stuff from production point of view - melody and feeling is what matters to me.

There's no question that it comes through in the music. Only really been active for 2 years myself so it's always interesting to see where I stand progression-wise in comparison to other artists. You're really lucky to have the opportunity to play with such gear from such a young age. Learning is was so much easier back then.

Amazing album, seriously! I totally forgot about the vu-us label, they have released some really awesome stuff. Lone, Deceptikon etc. and this! Are they still going? And are they still shipping CD's? If so this is definitely on my purchase list
If you ever wanted to put anything out on my 'lil label (even if it's just spare tracks or whatever), just holla.
