In regards to the poll I vote no. Hard to say which artist it would be, but I've been on a Pixies/Frank Black kick recently so I'll go with that. Someone else mentioned Morrissey which isn't a bad choice either.
i still haven't fully absorbed the peel sessions set and i've had it for a year or so. it's so much material spanning such a long period of time. a lot to think about. i even like some of the peel versions better than the recorded masters. same with the omnibus Nation's Saving Grace and Wonderful/Frightening World in both respects.
i'm on a totale's turns kick. it's such a vile, nasty record.
so uh i should keep this post on topic. other things i could maybe listen to for all time : guided by voices. james brown. trout mask replica.

I chose Morrissey because his music is eclectic, it varies. I also think his lyrics are substantial enough to keep me occupied while thinking about them. I also include The Smiths when I say Morrissey because I think it would be bland without it.
It's a toss up between BoC and Radiohead for myself. I've been listening to both for many years, and I've only listened to them both more, and everything else less. What I find happening now, is that BoC is my day time music, and Radiohead is my music for listening to in the evening. While it's almost impossible for me to choose, I'm afraid that I have to pick Radiohead, as it works better for certain vacations, and the thought breaks my heart.
