It's saying that chauvinism, anarchy, and brutality are wrong. That's why the main character has to get rid of Tyler Durden. He is the bad guy, not the cool guy.
Fair enough man. I'd say it's safe to say I found that meaning pretty unclear, then. The film didn't really offer me a definite resolution to that whole conundrum it had been setting up the entire time, and everything I've heard about the book is in keeping with the kind of juvenile dick-waving immaturity I've had the misfortune of witnessing its misguided fans exhibit. Sorry for being curt about it.

Trust me, the message is lost on almost everyone who watches it. The same thing happens with The Godfather. Everyone's like "F yeah! The mafia is cool!" which is far from the point of the film. The point of The Godfather is to show what a horrible and dehumanizing existence members of the mob lead, at the expense of others and themselves.

Fight Club shows how broken and twisted logic could escalate. Once you hold freedom (to the extreme of anarchy) over respect for human life, you've gone off the deep-end because that's not what freedom is.

Fight Club is actually one of the most intelligent movies I've seen. You just can't take it at face value.

Ambien & Intimacy would make a good album name.

As for if insomnia can kill, it cannot kill by itself. You would need to starve yourself, if you're up for it (I'm pretty sure you're not). However, there is FFI, which is scary stuff. Sleep depravation is deadly still, but those are somewhat different from each other, since our bodies are going to want to fall asleep no matter what at some point.

Good luck to you, and anybody else who has insomnia on here. Some friends of mine also have/had it, and judging from the small experiences I've had of getting no sleep, it's definitely not fun at all.

Also, I'm sorry to Enoch, he wasn't trying to be inflammatory and I kind of bit at him for no reason in hindsight. I take back the whole first sentence of my post, and apologize for being a dick about it.

Okay, so I haven't seen Fight Club in years and I don't really memorized every line in it, but I don't really think deserve to be called an idiot for it.

But I'm sorry that I misunderstood Enoch's comment and that I overreacted. It's just hit a weak spot in me because I meet lots of people who said that kind of thing's seriously..

I didn't imply it was the disorder exclusively, but also don't forget to factor in blunt force trauma as I've known insomniacs who died that way (from collapsing of exhaustion).

Thanks.

The Ambien works. Thank god I don't have FFI. Someone my age developing that would be staggering.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.
