I'm inclined to agree. Wow!rolypablo wrote:That's one of the most awesome fan made videos I've seen for a BoC song.

Very nice, a bit heavy on the whole skateboard thing (when I was a kid, a skateboard was not as large as a surfboard
) but the whole montage, timing and variety of it was very refreshing, I feel as if I've been around the world, cities and parks, country and peace, summer of heat and snows of winter, lovely!

I think it is quite significant - acknowledging that this is genuine BoC music is almost a token move as there is overwhelming evidence to back that up - but acknowledgement of the popularity of these tracks and how they have been embraced by BoC's listeners is more significant. It's something that BoC surely can't ignore, from a purely cynical point of view because every time another fan downloads one of these early track collections they are missing out on royalties and being misrepresented by shoddy qualitiy Mp3's.apriorion wrote:I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but they've apparently updated the youtube playlist so that another Old Tunes track is at the top. This time, it's Katelslaughing's video for "Buckie High". Before, their top video was DDRpwner's video for "5.9.78". The two videos after that are that live version of "Julie and Candy" with the official visuals and the official "Dayvan Cowboy". The fact that those two Old Tunes tracks are above the two official videos seems suggestive to me. At least, I'm hoping that they are hinting that the BoCset is coming soon. In any event, it is interesting that this youtube channel is acknowledging what are basically bootlegs.

I think it's an indicator that an offically release collection of early material as mentioned by MDG is indeed imminent (though imminent is a relative term in BoC years
We had a dream last night. We had the same dream.
They're the same length, but light travels *much* further than BoC in a single yearrolypablo wrote:What's longer, a BoC year or a Light year?

i think it's coming up next, the so-called bocset, not the album. think of it. live julie and candy, adding old tunes, all lead up to something. and since we know bocset was in the works ever since the leak of tapes.. yep.23degreesdream wrote:I think it is quite significant - acknowledging that this is genuine BoC music is almost a token move as there is overwhelming evidence to back that up - but acknowledgement of the popularity of these tracks and how they have been embraced by BoC's listeners is more significant. ha, like anyone knew.Ottomatik wrote:What would the bocset be like? Just old unreleased stuff? Or with new songs, made in the last few years? Are you sure the bocset would be better than a new LP?
here's what was said:
don't read too much into the 'forthcoming record' statement, it's been like 6 years now since 'bocset' was revealed.OK The reason it was jumped on was this: Warp and BOC have been in talks for a long while about
putting out a box set of old tracks from these tapes and others, with new packaging and art, to
be released sometime after the forthcoming record.
