Again, you're projecting your own subjective impressions. The fact that TCH is less meaningful for you than other albums doesn't mean it has to be the same for the rest. And what the hell, folktronica? I'm no expert but does the album lack of technique or something? I'm positive the bros have put lots of effort in the TCH recording so it isn't very clever of you to call it crap.Kinski wrote:because it's really nothing special. glad you like it, but compared to other releases it's empty inside. 3 years of waiting and they crap out some folktronica? rly gies. mhrtc had doppler nostlagia, geogaddi was dark and moody, tch.. well tch just IS.
Did the Campfire Headphase always sounded like this?

well that was a failed attempt at insulting me. you know, when you talk like that you usually just insult yourself. think about it.MAXIMUS MISCHIEF wrote:holy shoot this guy is a retard moronpointlessdude wrote:Again, you're projecting your own subjective impressions. also, it's not really that subjective. i mean, it's subjective that i don't like it as much as you do (i like it just fine), but it's pretty objective that the album is not as full with mystery-ish stuff as the others. actually, boc told it themselves in interviews that they were aiming at being straight with this album. and it worked. they are. but being straight isn't that interesting, plus subjectively the tunes are just not as good as the earlier ones. and i know this is just my opinion, but i think i'm not alone in it. it's just not as entertaining. you have to learn to live with it.

I am amazed that people don't like TCH. I think it's because pitchfork gave in a lukewarm review and since most people can' t have their own opinions they just go along with whatever they read. TCH is a great album, IMO. I listened to it while hiking not too long ago and was reminded how awesome it is.

Not literally, but somehow you always get to that point. Wanted another Geodaddi? That's legit, but you're painting innovation and change as if it were a bad thing. Did you expected the bros to keep rehashing their own sounds indefinitely? Actually many of us prefer Campfire straightness to first albums' mysterious sounding, see? And that's our opinion, based on our likes and our experience! Is it so difficult to understand?Kinski wrote:i never said you're not suppose to llike what i don't like.pointlessdude wrote:Fixed that for you.Kinski wrote:STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE!!! I think a lot of fans that are new to BoC are generally drawn to The Campfire Headphase and Trans Canada Highway, do to Dayvan Cowboy. When that video came out it spawned A LOT more BoC fans. I think a lot of older fans don't like it as much because it was more straight forward and less psychedelic/symbolic. I don't listen to Campfire a lot either. But God Damn, that Macquarie Ridge is one of my favorite songs they have ever written.
I wonder where they're at musically today.... What is in store for us with this next album? I bet it's going to be brilliant.
I don't know though, I am just a person with an opinion.

whoa there david koresh, slow down. this is getting really sect-y. you're allowed to like it, but i'm not allowed to dislike it? ridiculous. like, really? i just have to shut up because you all like it? i mean, you basically agreed with my point by saying 'Actually many of us prefer Campfire straightness to first albums' mysterious sounding', so you're forbidding me from liking tch less than you? really?pointlessdude wrote:Not literally, but somehow you always get to that point. and i never wanted another geogaddi, just an album that i would go back to more than 10 times in the last 6 years or whenever it was released. is that really so hard to undertand?
someone thinks other than you and some of you just flip out. don't you have some youtube videos to comment on instead of this?
i'm sorry i broke out of your little sect. please don't go waco on me.
..look what you started Ensoi, you just had to have an opinion didn't you; an original comment that you wanted to share with a broader community of people who share the same interests as you..
Well; that's not how it works aroun...... no. wait?
That's the point. Isn't it?
Subjective is a good word, I like being 'subjected' to different opinions regardless of wether I agree with them or not, I like this forum. Its fun and edgy

On a separate note; the whole pitch/sounding thing, I actually know what you mean and I agree with the whole mood/scenario/situation thing, things sound different all the time, it really depends whats going on at the time. The helium theory is ace aswell!
also, i forgot, i'm sure this isn't the case in this.. case, but sometimes tracks from youtube have pitches altered, like lowered a little bit, to get round copyright or something, i'm not exactly sure why, but I have come across them before..

So that guy is Koresh and then you don't want him to go Waco on you. to be honest, it was jim jones in the first version, then i changed it to koresh because of the IABPITC. probably not my finest decision. i kinda lost interest by that point.Lens Larque wrote:So that guy is Koresh and then you don't want him to go Waco on you.
