why thank boards of canada? they've done nothing. its the fans who ascribed some sort of meaning to the code and decided as to where exactly the meeting would be and went through with the plans. the group may have been incentive, but it was the decision of those who went. give yourself more credit, you're the one who went through with it and enjoyed it.
the thing is, it just feels like people attribute all of this to boards of canada, when the group have done nothing. the fans were the ones to schedule meeting points and all that jazz. the fact that its all attributed to BOC, though, is what kinda gets me, it's just so much fever surrounding this whole boc-redmoon thing, not just the anger. there were some salty ones posting, but i don't wanna look through 44 pages of red moon gossip.

it just feels like some are awaiting signs from boards of canada, attributing a party or lackthereof to boards of canada, and just a lot of imaginative talk about what could/could have happen(ed). but the feeling i get is that boards of canada don't plan a tiny portion of what people have uncovered or thought of or assumed on the site. overall, after seeing this whole shindig happen, so many people boc veeeeery seriously here, i guess, for my tastes at least, since i dont' think they intend that whatsoever. but who knows

i guess i'd basically be happier if at this point people stopped referencing boards of canada in the gathering, it obviously happened, and was entirely a product of those who went, nothing more.

You make it sound like we didnt know this before trying to get anywhere with the code in the first place. Whats the harm in it? We didnt genuinely believe we would find anything at the start.
no harm, that's just why i referred to the extent of the decoding and speculation and all that as sort of fanboyish. i meant no offense, although somebody likened it to a 12 year old on a video game forum, which i thought was kinda cute anyway. i really don't want to sound caustic, i just think its kind of excessive, but then again, it's a boards of canada forum so if anywhere, it should happen here.

i think we have seen/are talking about different "we"s, different general consensei (no fucking clue what the plural of consensus is.) i just got a different first impression than you have, i'd only started watching the site once the red moon page grew ninefold or so

p.s. i tend to stay as realistic concerning internet matters as possible, i think the amount of idealism and optimism in this red moon thing and other boc related rumors and shit (old tunes box set, live tour, among other things) just took me for a loop

Maybe you should read through 44 pages of that post before commenting. To be fair. I thanked BoC because if that code hadnt have been put on their site then Sat would never have happened. Simple.
No-one would have decided to get a party/gathering/camping trip together for everyone or people who fancied it. That whole code, random as it was, actually got 30 people together. On BoC's website. Whether it was there for a reason or not we still dont know. Your not helping us or giving us answers. Your new here so dont know a lot. Fair enough. So BoC have done something. Obviously. It was on their site!! so your completely wrong in saying it was entirely a product of those who went. Did I write the code? Perhaps Celadon??
They left it there and let people make something of it. We did and it was great doing it and the outcome was way better than expected.

"the group have done nothing"??

You havent got an arguement.

Ok. Maybe your comments about 'some' people this and that. These 'some' people obviously werent the ones who went on Sat. Youve seen the comments from them, myself etc etc. Maybe the 'some' were the ones doin the faking or something. They are totally not in the position to be pissed off or angry with BoC. Its jus chat. Has to be.
The people that had a wicked time where-ever they were on Sat had a wicked time and are thankful for that.
Maybe Ive overlooked these individuals. I hope so. Im sorry that that handful of people made you have these views and what youve commented on.

I mean, were having this debate because of a band. I think its crazy yet amazing that 2 Scottish brothers
can cause all this just by putting a code on their site. Its because of what theyre about, past and present, that has caused a 44 page possible wild goose chase!! Its all down to them. Its funny! They are to blame. You cant say theyve done nothing.
You gotta laugh, but not at us crazy bastards for making something of it.

think you need to chill out a bit. Boards are the reason we were all there in the first place. So we have that much to thank them for. Our expectations were not high anyway and we got something out of it and met some great people. This talk of doing it again is a vindication of how highly peole rate BOC and Twoism. If everyone was to meet BOC woundt be there agin neither. Does that mean that people shouldnt consider a meet up? it just felt right to do it and i'm not going to aplogise to anyone for that. Rant over. welcome anyway man :)

Man, these threads are gettin me down. With all the negativity and BS from random new posters... A lot of false info going round. I'm still on a quest to figure what heppened that nite and what is the exact nature of the code.

I think I'll just linger a bit and refrain from posting much. However, if I find out any more details, I will of course, share them here.

All Red Moon Attendees, so glad to be with you guys! I'll keep in touch directly.
