SHIT! I had the idea of being able to record your dreams onto a television screen YEARS ago!

You know what's really weird? The people that appear in the brain waves seem to be slightly different. It appears that the Steve Martin images are some guy in a black T-Shirt with a logo on it. I wonder if the person is projecting themselves into the visuals. I'll bet we all do this!

Yes, this is both scary and awesome!

The "brain wave output" isn't raw data coming from the user's mind, it's only a selection of 18,000,000 seconds of random Youtube clips from which to choose the closest matches suited to the current scene. So the image of the guy in the T-shirt is just the closest visual match that was able to be created from the available Youtube clips--not a raw projection of the user's mind. Will be cool though to see how this technology progresses--no doubt that self projection will play a key part somewhere down the line!

Yup! Just read that part. I jumped the gun as I just woke up and read this!

Hmm. I want to see what it would look like if the only palette the computer had was the exact same video the people watched in the MRI.

I just want to say that if it does get to the point where we can get clear images out of people's minds, there are two things I would not like to see happen (but they probably would).
1. Brain recordings used as evidence in a court of law.
2. Governments kidnapping people to extract brain recordings

Obviously we're a long way off, but this could either be a great thing for creative people or a really awful thing for people who committed no crime at all. Imagine someone getting the chair someday for something that leaked into their recorded images.
