So I'm listening to 'An Eagle In Your Mind' again, nothing apprently unusual this time...just enjoying the track, and all of a sudden at the very end when the instruments stop and the drum break continues I hear the most peculiar thing I've never heard in the mass amount of times listening to it. On beats 3, the + of 3 and the + of 4 there's an almost inaudible tape noise sample! That's it....just a sample of subtle tape noise. Mind blown. I desperately tried to hear a sample of, say, a drum or anything on those beats, but no.....just noise...and that's (one of the reasons) why I love Boards of Canada.

I love how on Sixtyniner there are three very distinct melodies that all seem very separate from one another. But that feel, when you notice them playing all at once, that moment is just beautiful.

I like how you can hear from the digital compression artifacts on the background field recording on Under The Coke Sign that it was recorded on a cell phone or other device that can do lofi digital recording.

I also love that 50hz electric current sound that can be heard for half a second in the beginning of Ready Lets Go.

Boc really has great songs to pick-apart.

Ive been listening to them a lot more with my NICE headphones, and I LOVE that moment when you hear a new sound in the background. Its like an entirely different listening experience

Yeah, there are always those little parts/gems. Like 5:05 in Kid For Today... That little synth line is so beautiful. That's not really a faint noise like you're talking about but still..

I will say when it comes down to tiny tiny little sounds, Odd Nosdam takes the motherfuckin cake. His version of dayvan brings me close to tears every time. So beautiful. I also ge tacid flashbacks

I love that little doodley doo melody going on in the background of Seqouia (first instance starts at around :47). It's so subtle, yet so awesome.

I love the subtle voices in Opening The Mouth and the scream in You Could Feel The Sky.

Oh yeah, also, slow Chinook down by about 200 percent and listen to the ending sequence. Sounds like broken machinery at a factory.

It can sound good, if it's properly used. But that's beside my point, which was that it's just interesting that it's just a random recording they probably did out on a whim.

Odd Nosdam is amazing. So extremely underrated.

I've been listening to his first two albums quite much recently, really great stuff. I don't like his remix at all though.

The musicians I like the most make music that speaks to me at a very personal level. Only three musician's music have "spoken" to me at that personal level.

Claude Debussy's music, for instance, is almost like a compilation of all the chord progressions and musical harmonies that I love. The feelings it evokes from me are solitude and remark.

Now, BoC is sort of the same, but sort of different. As a kid, all kids think about philosophy. I'd think about things like the universe, death, the idea of infinity, determinism, etc. all the time as a kid, especially while I was trying to go to sleep or just daydreaming. Often times I'd get sort of a dark feeling in my head. Listening to BoC, especially tracks like Orange Romeda, Tears From The Compound Eye or Chromakey Dreamcoat, bring all those feelings from childhood out. All those times I'd ponder things like religion, afterlife, infinity, nihilism, etc.
